Are non-xbox 360 headphones compatible with xbox 360?

Is there a way that I can purchase a really good pair of headphones that is compatible with an Apple iPad as well as Xbox 360? I am interested in any wired or wireless headphones and I don't really care about a microphone to be able to chat.

Turtle Beach Compalitity

Hi, I was thinking with an Xbox One, to have a pair of Turtle Beach headphones? Do any of you have Turtle Beaches and do they work as advertised?

Also, I would like to use them interchangeably with Xbox One and Xbox 360, do all headphones are compatible? If not, which ones will work and any extra dongles?

 

Can you not plug headphones directly into your TV?

 

Yeah I guess I could do that and just get a really long cord. Dont people also plug in headphones directly into the wireless controller?

 

Not headphones, the controller plug is smaller and used for chat, headphones won't fit. My 360 Turtle beach headset gets its game audio from the TV too.

Turtle beach can be used with xbox and ipad ect however turtle beaches do require a seperate power source inorder to work this isnt a major problem all you need to find is a lighning to usb adapter ied suggest looking on amazon

Turtle beach x 12

(although i use a Microsoft surface tablet to power them)

Ipod 5 gen or my iphone 4
