Are Homemade DVD + R discs supported with the Xbox One?

I burnt a homemade disc from my one drive to the DVD + R blank disc and I put it in my Xbox One and it says unsupported disc? They are all MP4 files.What am I doing wrong?

If I am understanding your issue correctly, you are trying to play a recorded BD. Which is not supported. Only regular BD, DVD, and DVD-R/+R is supported.

Xbox One S - Can it play any type of recordable disc?

Does the new Xbox One S support all types of DVD and BD discs, i.e. BD-R, DVD+R? If not, which ones?

I can't find any kind of detailed specs.

 

Hi, as far as I am aware the drive in the Xbox One only supports mastered discs not recordable media.

Ok so out of curiosity I just tested this, the Xbox did play a DVD-R disc but nothing else.

Am I simply burning it wrong? Like I can only watch the videos on my desktop if I open each file by itself by right clicking like the videos don't start on there own for some reason.

 

I tried a BD-R no good, DVD+R no good but a DVD-R worked, so I'd say that as you're using a DVD+R that's the problem.

As for the files not auto playing on your PC that may be an option you can change in windows or whatever OS your PC uses.

Pretty much any retail DVD player will support DVD+R, the problem is that you would need to convert those MP4 files to DVD format VOB files. There are lots of program's that will do the conversion for you, some free and some not.

This isn't really the best place to be discussing DVD authoring though, a quick search on the internet will soon find you lots of good information.

Convert mp4 to DVD is a good search option.
