Are games being turned off for Xbox one? As I can’t play the disc once the game is removed...

No, they are not being turned off. You can still play disc games once the game has been removed from the store. If the game discs are not being recognised, then it could be an issue with the discs or the disc drive. Make sure the discs are clean, and try inserting the disc again.

The game is saved on the Xbox but when you put the disc in it says not recognised. It did the exact same thing with forza motorsport 7 and gta. The day it was removed from the store and game pass my Xbox will no longer play the disc. It promptes you to look at the settings and then it say manage and that it’s 0% downloaded.

The game will continue to show up in your recently played as that's the design of the system. When you have a disc for Xbox One and want to play a game, it'll actually install the game to your hard drive, but uses the disc to authenticate "purchase" or
"ownership" of the game. So even when you remove the disc, the instillation will remain on your hard drive.

Is that what you're referring to as staying on your console? It would not be any indication of anything being wrong.

After I play a game and the game is over and I eject the game the game stays on the TV screen i meant to say could this be the disk drive going bad? When I turn the One S console off and back on the game goes off and back to normal.

Let's try to install the game digitally and then once successful simply insert the disc to play the game. Please follow the steps below:

1. Cancel the installation and remove the disc.

2. Perform a powercycle on your console.

​​​A. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

B. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

3. Launch Xbox app on your phone and search for the game.

4. Click the game and choose "Download to Console"

5. Wait for the game to install completely before inserting the disc to play it.

I tried all of the suggestions you listed but I still cannot play a game of Call of Duty Modern Warfare. My Xbox Series X continues to turn off on its own when I try playing. Sometimes the screen flickers on and off very quickly before the console turns off. Other times the screen freezes and turns a bright green before it turns off. Both my game disc and my console are brand new. I opened them yesterday and I’ve had nothing but issues. Initially the console wouldn’t even turn on. Now it does but now i can’t play my game.
