Are avatars even a thing anymore?

I don't really care either way, as I rarely mess with mine anymore.

But it seems like they've pretty well done away with the whole avatar thing on the X1, other than using it for your gamerpic they are pretty much non existing lol.

After as much $$$ as they probably made off last gen i'm surprised they did away with the whole avatar marketplace thing.

Agreed. But aren't avatars supposed to be a

"expression" of your gamer "individuality"?

Blood Thirsty, Ravenous, Ruthless, and maybe even Cynical

are some of the feeling i want to put through with my Avatar.

 

Xbox One Avatars?

I hope not, avatars are the dumbest thing.

 

I'm all for bringing the Avatars to the Xbox one in all their glory.

 

Seeing as I have spent a nice sum of $ on my avatar to make him not look ridiculous; I would like to see avatars be made a little more prominent. They were cool to see what your friends did to them now than again.

I felt it brought a sense of life to the Xbox 360's Dashboard. Especially if you had a really cool theme going. I usually had a theme going for whatever game I was enjoying at the time.

So I would like to see avatars make a comeback, alongside Themes!, Mottos, Bio's, and Locations.

 

I could care less, never spent money on them...

 

I think they will will brought back, I mean they're still there, we still have them, they just haven't implemented the marketplace for them yet, and when they do I think they will be more prominent - on the dashboard, etc.

And my rare hoarding will continue. ;]

 

Avatars is an Xbox Live Feature and Xbox 1 is an Xbox console. Older peps may not want them but since Launch, they have an Xbox Avatar app buried in the windows 8 styled OS. They may add the marketplace in a future update, or if you want to shop for new
stuff you can always do it on your Xbox 360 console. I'm sure there are kids who want avatars instead of their profile picture looking like a drivers licence photo or passport photo. I'm keeping my Xbox 360 slim console. Not trading or selling it for anything
even if it's become last gen. About 87 of my friends don't own an Xbox 1 yet only about 16 of my friends do. It has been enjoyed very much and both are a great investment.

 

It seems like the Avatars, gamerpics, and themes are completely gone. Avatars have all but been forgotten on the XB1 and the gamerpics/theme colors are just there. Actually quite disappointing.

 

I wouldn't mind having avatars more prominent. I might actually pay more attention to mine again haha.

I really would like to at least have my gamerpics sized up and back (long shot). I liked collecting them and had quite a collection haha.

Or at least the ability to get new game related ones on X1.

 

I agree with the gamer pic too. I love my Smokin Aces; Buddy "Aces" Israel gamerpic. I have had it since it became available on the Xbox Marketplace and do not want to change it.

 

I had a lot of avatar items I bought for my old account, I don't even know if i'll bother buying anything for my new one.

There's not much of a point anymore it seems.

Too bad you can't transfer avatar items to another account somehow :/
