Are all of the upcoming Xbox One bundles bad news for the Kinect?

What does it matter? It's still there for people who want it. In these bundles I see it just being swapped out for a game.

 

Electro, I genuinely thought you were continuously misspelling it by accident - I didn't think it was on purpose with a hidden meaning (that apparently flew over my head). Alas, you're right - that's enough talk about that.

If it wasn't already obvious, regarding whether the new bundles are bad for the Kinect, my opinion is that it might be and that it might not be - I honestly can't say. But do I think the Kinect will disappear as a result of that? Definitely not. I believe
it will be here to stay for the life-span of the Xbox One.

Someone mentioned how it makes sense that Kinect doesn't come with those bundles as the bundled game doesn't use Kinect at all - I liked that response, because it's logically sound.

You're not wrong at all, It was just rumours about the power and Kinect. For what it's worth, I still have mine and if a killer app/game comes up I'll buy it. But I do need a bigger room, I really need to take a photo of my gaming set up.

 

Exactly whether Red plays a game with his Kinect unplugged and I play the same game with it plugged in with Skype or Youtube snapped to the side or using voice commands or gestures, the game will play with the same Graphical quality and frame rate.

I can see where the confusion came from regarding Rippen's response - whether you use a Kinect sensor or not has no bearing on a game's resolution or framerate. However, a particular game where the developer opted to use 10% of resources towards say, graphics,
instead of towards Kinect functionality, would probably do somewhat better graphically speaking (although with only 10%, I'm betting it wouldn't be all that much). In the confusion, Rippen was referring to the former while Electro was likely thinking about
the latter.

 

I love the Kinect for voice commands, the amount of times it's saved me getting up to find the remote or allowed me to switch on the TV as I get in whilst still taking my shoes off and allowing me to flip through menus is great, only stupid thing it makes
me do is load a game via voice and then grab the controller and try to use it without actually turning the controller on!

The wife likes dance central and keeps hinting I should make more use out of it for fitness stuff but tbh I've never used the camera part myself.
