Are all of the upcoming Xbox One bundles bad news for the Kinect?

The fate of the Kinect 2.0 is up to the customers because while I personally don't have any use for it (the Kinect 2.0); I am still impressed by it

Make GoW collection available to buyers of GoW 4 Limited Edition Bundle

As of now if you buy the retail game GoW 4 you get tokens to download all previous GoW titles for free. But buyers of the new Xbox One S GoW console bundle are left out of this promotion. This bundle comes with the game, but not tokens for the previous
titles? I don't understand - it seems I am penalized for spending $449 vs. $59.

Please make this offer available to buyers of the upcoming new GoW 4 console bundle.

Great News and Bad News...

Earlier on Sunday December the first 2013, I went to my local Target retail store and... BEHOLD!!!... in the electronics section of the store behind the glass door of the game consoles Xbox shelf sat four new boxed standard edition Xbox One All-in-One Entertainment
Consoles just sitting there ready to be purchased, but,... the BAD NEWS is that I myself won't have the "required" amount of money to pay for the Xbox One console and the two games that I want to get for it until this upcoming Tuesday December the third,...
Sheesh... they may be all sold out by then folks!

 

I think that MS is mainly trying to focus on pushing consoles out first, to making up grounds, and then they'll probably push the Kinect.

 

The Kinect is integral to the Xbox Experience. The thing is, they had to do this to give the skeptics their choice and that was good. I just hope that Xbox keeps pushing the advancement as well as developers to implement it in games. Even subtly like
in Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome. And I do believe they will continue to do that.

 

I never thought I'd say this, but I like Kinect and what it does on the Xbox One. I love being able to say, "Xbox On" and everything turns on. Then when it see's me, it automatically signs in my gamertag. I like snapping, and switching from game to tv,
to ap, etc. I didn't think it'd work out very well in my small room, but it really does make things much nicer for me. I think that for those getting the bundles without it are really missing something special.

 

Kinect technology will have some say when VR goes mainstream.

 

As much as I like my Kinect sensor, I agree with Goatsnatcher that there will never be a AAA Kinect-only game due to the limitations regarding control. Then again, my previous post expounded on this when I mentioned how it should SUPPLEMENT the games, not
SUPPLANT them.

Bran, no offense, but your comment about its only use being voice commands is an ignorant one - there are numerous posts in this thread alone (mine and Ripp's most recent posts are examples that prove your statement wrong). There are numerous uses for the
Kinect - the voice commands just happen to be the most popular, that's all. As to whether we'll hear about it in a year or so, I guarantee you that it will still be around.

 

well i plan to use fitness and i cant do that without my kinect so yeah i am glad i got it really, i only tend to use the record that command and sometimes when i really have no need to fire up my controller i hurl some navigation commands at it but even
for those few features i use or plan to use it for i am still glad its there because who knows whats over the horizon, there's mainstream then there's all the innovative and creative people who given time i am sure will do great things with it. Look at kinect
1 being used for robots n stuff outside of the xbox, it's a nifty piece of tech all in all

 

See Geek, that's where you're wrong. It's only use is voice commands to me at least. People don't actually use Skype do they? On a tv or a computer? I only Skype from my phone and pretty much everyone I know only use their phones as well.

It doesn't add anything useful to games except for shaking your controller to get a zombie off.........whoa! Groundbreaking stuff there.

The more I think about it the more I think just how useless it is. Yup, voice commands are all it has going for it and they only work in a handful of countries. lol. I wouldn't recommend the Kinect to anyone unless it was 40 or 50 euro max.

 

I actually use Skype on my Xbox One quite a bit @ brandiesel. As do a few of my friends, who have family out of state. Why use a 5 inch phone screen when I can use my 70 inch? My father in law lives out of state. And mother lives out of state in the
winter so we Skype on our Xbox One's. And my daughter uses Skype on her Xbox One as well to speak with her Grandma. Skype is my most often used app, next to Xbox Music.

 

As far as the voice commands, I enjoy them in Dead Rising to save very fast, as well as alert Zombies. And I really enjoyed them in Ryse: Son of Rome to call for attacks. In Madden I love them to get my Peyton Manning on at the line of scrimmage. OMAHA!
LoL, the voice commands are awesome in my opinion.

 

"Xbox record that" is the extent I use Kinect. That's certainly not worth $100.

 

Well, Doc (holiday), who's fault is that? Certainly not the fault of the product. You're not getting your money's worth because you're CHOOSING not to. Not much anyone can do to help you with that. It also doesn't lend you much support towards your argument
either, IMO.

 

None of the titles that are in bundles are Kinect titles, so it makes sense to not include them, nothing wrong with taking a back step to focus something.

At the end of the day only MS knows whats really going to happen, if MS is putting something serious together for kinect it has a change, if MS are leaving it to chance, then there is a chance but its getting slimmer.

As with many things on the one I think its user don't understand it enough to appreciated it, I know many people don't realise its used for the voice commands.
