April update

I have still not received the system update. I know it's being rolled out in waves but it has been a week and I have not received it. I live in the east coast of the US. Any word on when I might get the update? I have tried hard booting the Xbox once a day
since Thursday.Thank you.

How do you even know when you have received the update??

 

You woukd have to reboot the Xbox when it is powered up after the update is downloaded. If your XBox is in the instant on state.

After this update it will reboot on it's own. You can also check if you have the new settings for friend notifications.

Yes, April has come and gone, and I have yet to receive the aforementioned update... and apparently, another will be on its way soon while I'm still waiting for the previous update that seems to be M.I.A.

 

I have also done MORE THAN a single hard reboot/restart/cycle - what have you, and still nothing. And, yes - I have already confirmed a steady internet connection. ANYONE in Support have any answers??

 

Hi coldfusion! Can you check in Settings -> System -> Console Info and let us know what version it does say there?

There isn't a whole lot of pomp and circumstance to it. If you're system is working as intended then unless there was a major over haul then you would never know.

Follow Jaymo's suggestion and check your OS version. If you're up to date then you should see 6.2.10812.0 (xb_rel_1404.140411-1830) fre.

 

I finally got the update a week and a half ago. I didn't even notice the update happened but when I checked version number it was the newest one.

 

Excellent. I know it's pretty different than it was on the 360. I love how the system is fairly maintenance free, but then on the other hand I do like to know what's going on with it and when I receive an update.

 

AWESOME, Mike! I know what you mean, and that's why I suggested checking the System, because with this new offline update and "Silent Update" feature, it's almost invisible when you get a new update.

Ok - thanks for the info! OS version is now current, but I'm wondering where there new features are? I'm on the Home screen, a friend just signed in and, apart from the number of friends increasing, there was no notification as to who it is. Also, I do not
see an option to manually search for updates, even though I now know I have the latest OS. Finally, where do I look to see what games and apps have been most recently updated? I apologize if I come off as a malcontent; just looking for answers and want to
be sure I'm using all the new features provided in the April update to their fullest. Thank you in advance!
