April update messing with disk drive

Anyone else got early access to the April update and find it's messing with your disk drive? What happens is sometimes I eject a disk but then the Xbox sucks the disk back in before I can take it and then refuses to read any disks after this saying the disk
might be damaged or dirty.

A hard reset usually fixes this but it's starting to get very annoying. Is my disk drive on the way out do you think?

Have You Ever Had To Do A Hard Reset?

Amazingly, (even with the buggy April Preview Update that's messing up disc drives for some) I still haven't ever had to.

It may have been the laser messing up the disk. Is it only one game messing up with graphics, or is it for all games? Check for a etched ring on your games that has screwy graphics, if so, you may have a disk drive failure.

hey flipsy84 I got exactly the same problem with my console its been bugging me for a while now it only started happening since I got the titanfall updates earlier this month it works for me fine

once ive restarted my console but after ive been playin a game for a while & I wanna play a different game it comes up my discs are dirty or damaged I just cant be bothered to keep turning off my console

ive done everything xbox has told me to do with hard resets I even did a factory reset and ive still got the same problem

 

& ive also got the issue with the disc drive taking the game back in once ive pressed eject

 

have you got an issue with your no friends online writing my has like backwards letters & some parts of the font is like joined up writing just looks weird is there any news on a quick update that will sort all of these problems out

 

Yes I've got the writing problems as well, looks all weird. Plus I can't use the kinect to read codes. Won't read my metal gear code at all.

 

yeh Kinect doesn't read my codes either, but just to let you know I bought metal gear solid azwell the code you get with it is not for ground zeroes its for the main game phantom pain when it comes out

 

this is driving me crazy i have the disc read error problem to keep shutting the xbox one down just to play another game is starting to become a chore

 

The same problem to me since 4 o 5 days. Please check this and fix it.

 

Please post any preview issues at the given link above not here your issues will not be seen. If you get a group not found message wait a day then try again, if that is unsuccessful PM message a member of forum support for access.

 

If I change a games CD, the XBox one does not read the new CD. I always have to restart.

 

Glad im not the only one who have this problem! The problem you did describe is exactly the same i had. I did just talked with the microsoft austria support, and they recommend me a guide which should help to solve this problem. Its probably the april beta
update which causes this problem.

1. Go to the Energy Settings and activate the "Energy Saving" option.

2. Then turn off/sign out your xbox one controller and hold the power button on your xbox one for about 20 second until your xbox one restart. If the console doesn´t start automatically by itself, you have to press the power button again.

3. Now insert a disc and see if it start without problems. Did it start right?

Then press the reject button and see if your console reject your disc without any problems.

My xbox one´s language settings are german, so i dont know the right translations. So please excuse any mistakes. This guide actually solved my problem, so i really hope it helps you too. Good luck!
