Apps won’t install after external storage stops working

Sorry to hear about what happened. Let’s do our best to sort this out.

What exactly is the error message you get there?

Have you already removed or disconnected your external drive from the console?

Let’s first refresh your account and power cycle your console.

Note: Before doing these steps, please make sure that you know exactly the email address linked with your gamertag and the password to it so you can add the correct account again.

1. Remove account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts. Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm. When you're finished, select Close.

2. Power cycle:
Press and hold Xbox's power button for 10 sec. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

3. Add account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select Add new.

Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter.

None of the above solve the issue. Games currently Installed on the external drive work. Unless they need an update. They can not be updated. New games can not be installed to external drives in the xpack enclosure. Apps seem install with no issue. Games
can not be migrated to or from the external drive as well. Apps migrate with no issue. The issue seems to be related to the xpack external enclosure. It seems to have stopped working after the Feb update. Prior to this games installed updated and transfered
with no issues using the xpack enclosure.

Please cancel the current installation process, and do it after every time the steps fail

If you are using and external storage please unplug it and install the game in the internal storage

If you aren't installing on a external storage but you have one plugged please unplug it and power cycle the console, if that doesn't work restore the console without deleting game and apps

If you are using a USB storage plugged in the console please unplug it, after this power cycle the console and try the games installed in the internal storage without plugging back the external one

If the games and apps works like that you need to format the external storage on a Pc, if the games don't work, try to do a factory reset on the console deleting all content

I have alsmot the exact same problem. I moved my xbox one and now it won’t recognize my external storage and says I have way less storage available than I know I do. All the games that I play are uninstalled because they were installed to my external storage.
Someone please help!!
