Apps won't download

Hello,

I am having issues with my Xbox 1s. For some reason my Xbox refuses to update certain Microsoft apps. These being: Events Beta, Avatar editor, Avatar editor original, and Microsoft rewards. At one point the Microsoft store was on this list as well, but after factory resetting my console it no longer attempts to update. Every time I turn on my Xbox I am bombarded with installation stopped notifications from the apps listed above. These apps will not update at all. The progress bar says 0.0% until the xbox gives up and sends an installation stopped message. The issue is not caused by my wifi as my wifi has been confirmed by xbox support to work fine, and I am able to update literally anything except those apps. I can update all my other apps and games with no issues. I have called xbox support on numerous occasions over this and have tried everything suggested. However now they are telling me I must pay 179 dollars to send it in and get it fixed as none of the trouble shooting steps worked. I have had this console for less than two years and it is already broken. I am really frustrated as I did spend around 400 dollars on this console and then it already begins having issues within two years. I really hope someone can help me as I am extremely frustrated by these issues and I am definitely not looking to pay 179 dollars for an issue that I didn't even cause.

My console has updated and removed the Plex and EA Access Hub applications, now I can't download them, error 0x80072f8f. I did hard reset and full reset, nothing helps. Only Youtube and Media Player applications have downloaded, all other applications can't
be downloaded.

Yep, I’ve bought a new Xbox One S instead of old one for my 4K-tv and most of the apps won't install. Stops right at the beginning. Reset didn’t help.

For me it’s 0x80072f8f

Hello Jacobhg10,

You may need to update your console. For example, if you see a “Download stopped” error, you may need to install an update before the download can complete.

To see if there’s an update available:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.
If there are any updates, they’ll appear in the left menu. If not, you'll see "No console update available."

If there is no update needed, I would strongly suggest trying the troubleshooting steps below:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear

Then select System > Settings > devices and streaming > blue ray > persistent storage > clear three times > restart console.

If the issue persists, you can try soft resetting the Xbox again to see if it corrects the issue!
