Apps won't automatically update!!!

The most rage-inducing feature right now of this product is the constant, CONSTANT app updates. Want to use youtube app? UPDATE!. Want to watch a video?? UPDATE!!! WAnt to listen to music? SIT THERE AND WAIT FOR AN UPDATE!

Individually updating application items is the most mind numbingly stupid/frustrating setup. So if I have 50 apps, I have to open 50 apps, and click accept to each and every one (don't forget it will fail the first time to download the update, and then you
can hit retry and it will connect) and wait for it to update.

Here's a novel idea: UPDATE APPS IN THE BACKGROUND AUTOMATICALLY!

Then maybe the next time I go to stream music or video or youtube to the console, I won't have to shut down the app, restart the console and try launching it again for another stupid, arbitrary update that I won't even notice any new features from.

Game Updates not Auto Downloading

Why won't my Xbox one X automatically download updates overnight or during the day? I have to start the game, then it closes and starts and update when one is found. My current settings:

Updates:

Console: Keep console up to date - Checked

Games and Apps: When this is enabled your Xbox will automatically apply background updates to your games and apps: Checked

Power and startup;

-Turn off after: Do not turn off automatically.

-Power Mode - Instant-On

- When Xbox is off, turn off storage - Unchecked

 

Apps won't update

So I've been having issues with my Xbox not downloading apps and updates like it should. I've got my apps in the queue, but they stay at 0% with no progress. Is anyone else experiencing this?

 

All of my games and apps update in the background. I havent seen an update for anything besides the controller update. Do you have your power settings set to Instant On?

 

My power settings are instant on, and I also get my tiles not loading a lot of the time. I usually end up having to do a complete reset (hold down the power button for 10 seconds) to get them to load. It's all been happening since the last update.

 

Since you say you have your settings on instant-on also make sure that you have "automatically download updates" checked. And if you want them to download automatically make sure you keep your Xbox in standby mode, meaning don't unplug or fully turn off
your console.

 

That's exactly how I have it setup, instant on with updates checked... the XBOX will download the system updates fine overnight... just not any app/game updates. I only tell the xbox to turn off at night using voice commands, nothing is unplugged.
