Apps and tv & movies tabs missing on Xbox 360 dashboard after format

So I rolled back updates, I formatted, I cleared the cache, I updated from USB and who knows what else I've done.

Then I made the initial setup for like more than 5 times.

Every time I choose Other for locale I end up with the "short" dashboard.

Every time I choose UK for locale I end up with the "extended" dashboard.

But even so, with the extended dashboard, as soon as I connect my Xbox live account I get the short dashboard again.

So I thought it's not about the version it's about the region.

I went online and changed my region for my account to UK and guess what, now I got the extended dashboard even after connecting.

I don't know what I will do with it yet but it's very frustrating that Microsoft didn't bother to put up a page explaining all this even if, as I found, many folks had the same question all over the Internet.

It's even more confusing when I go back online and try to change back the region.

Yes, I know, it says there that I can do it only once in 3 months but the fact is that I'm allowed to do it but I have no option for my region. I don't even know what was like before switching to UK.

No to say that I initially wanted to switch for one of the accounts (the one signed in) and the switch was made for the other one, just because, on another Microsoft portal, I was logged in with the second. And I received no feedback that the switch was made. I only found out later, by chance, that the switch was done when visiting my e-mail. In fact, after I made the switch I received an error on the portal telling me to try again. I tried again and this time it made the right account switch, but, again, with no feedback, just the error and me checking the e-mail later to find out. It's crazy.

I must say that, for my very first experience in the Xbox environment, I have the worst of it. For 3 or 4 days now, instead of enjoying my toy, I search the Internet up and down worried about the fact that my software may have an error, or the device I bought may be banned, or my account has an error (that's why I ended up with two) and so on.

I was planinng to buy a new one also, to play some new games. Good thing I didn't do this from the start.

Hello Mashcarpone, yes you have the latest version of Xbox 360, but unfortunately as it is a console that has been discontinued and the system too, many things related to the app have already been discontinued by the companies themselves like Internet Explorer, and basically no company develops more for the 360 system.

Yes, but still, discontinuing some apps doesn't necessarily mean I shouldn't find the last version of them, or at least the apps tab.

And, as I said, I had all the tabs right before formatting. I even searched for a movie and found it. All I wanted was to clear all the data of the old user.

So, are you saying that this is the expected behaviour on all 360 consoles today, to display the dashboard as I described?

What file format is the video file?

• On the Dashboard, go to the "TV & Movies" tab.
  
• Select "My Video Apps".
  
• Select "System Video Player".
  
• Select "Portable Device".
  
• If the video format is compatible, your video should be listed.

I don't recall the TV app being taken away from the Xbox 360. Can you not find it from the TV and Movies section on the dashboard where it says get Your TV App?
