Apps and games not updating discretely.

As per title. Apps and games are not updating while the console is in standby mode.

I have the correct power setting selected. The console is off for about 18 hours a day, it's watching tv for a few and gaming for a few. im certain that ever since I got the console I have had to manually apply every update to every game and app I play/use.
it seems to be every other day I have to wait for another app/ game to update. A few nights ago, 7 different apps/games updated when I launched them. It's getting very frustrating, particularly as one of the features I really wanted was the background updating
of apps/games while the machine is off.

Updating Apps

The auto update feature only kicks in at designated times, usually the wee hours of the morning. If the update was pushed out before that time and you login it obviously won't be downloaded yet.

 

I am surprised nobody has got back to you on this one Stanny, so far personally I have found that only the main system updates happen automatically of a night time and anything else that I have used has updated when I have tried to access the app and games
usually pick up there is an update when you insert the game. The guys at Xbox/Ms are playing with updates and new things as we speak and over the next few months or so these problems will be resolved and hopefully your woes will reside, I know that a lot is
going on as I am a apart of the beta testing for this device and the updates are getting better and giving us more of what we want, so please hang in there as it is becoming more of the experience we all want as they are listening!!

 

I think I read somewhere that there was an issue with ethernet connections and auto-updates.

I'm experiencing the same "non-auto-updating" thing, and I agree, it's kind of annoying !
