    "Applying update..." screen locked during initial setup of Xbox One.


    "Applying update..." screen locked during initial setup of Xbox One. Been this way for about 10 hours. The support page indicates that all is well but for some apps. At the bottom of the screen it says, "Don't turn off or unplug your console." What
    do I do?

    Hey there Epic! Aussie is on the right path here. An internet connection is required during initial setup of the Xbox One console, but after that you're good to go.

    There was a problem with update

    Brand new xbox one. Setup was good. Entered langauage, country. Tested wired, wireless connections. Both were good. Got error message: There was problem with update. Tried offline update. After applying update from USB drive, it was time to update again.
    I got same error message: There was a problem with update. Help. I need to get past this initial update to use my Brand New Xbox one

    everyone seems to think that it is a server problem. I mean how could the console be broken fresh out of the box...

    DOES THE KINECT NEED TO BE PLUGGED IN FOR INITIAL CONSOLE SETUP ?

    You can leave the Kinect in the box. It is not required to be connected during the initial setup or otherwise. Just click "skip" when the Kinect setup screen pops up.

    So are you trying to set up your brand new xbox? If so id say that maybe what you need to do is just go back to the store you got it from and return it and get another one. I would also try https://support.xbox.com/ again
    to make sure there isnt anything that will help you there.
