    Apple TV version not allowing online play with Windows 10 version


    Added friend, sent invite from Apple TV version to Windows 10 version. Friend received invite and unable to connect. Tried receiving invite and unable to connect. Tried resetting, all options, shouldn't be so difficult so where is the glitch in the software?
    Both are signed in to XBOX Live on accounts.

    Playing Minecraft between devices and platforms

    You can play Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition with other devices running Minecraft: Pocket Edition, such as Windows 10 and Windows Phone devices.
    If you have Minecraft: Apple TV Edition, you can play locally with other players running a version of Minecraft: Pocket Edition. Visit Minecraft: Apple TV Edition overview

    Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition can only be played with other Xbox 360 consoles on Xbox Live. The Xbox One edition can only be played online with other Xbox One consoles. There is no cross-platform play between the Xbox editions and other editions of Minecraft.

    Apple TV Edition is broken, and older iOS games were broken

    When will the Minecraft Apple TV Edition be updated? It's been months of broken functionality, waiting for the update to make Realms work with the Apple TV. And LAN games aren't functional either, it just disconnects.

    Since the Bedrock update on the iPad and iPhone, we've lost all inventory, and the player starts at the spawn point. It seems to have broken older games created before the update. Some of these games had alot of time invested in them, and now they seem to
    be broken!

    The new updates have lots of paid stuff in them that works, but annoying bugs on the iOS versions that have broken older games, and made playing between Apple TV and iOS not possible. We paid $20 for the Apple TV version, and the monthly charge for Realms,
    but can't play between these devices anymore. Better Together?

    Plus a couple of other issues. I have a Child account for my son for playing Minecraft. Since the update the child account seems to have all privleges of an adult. What if I don't want him playing online multiplayer games with strangers? There's no way to
    turn that off.

    And the Mac version of Minecraft is stranded in the 'Java Edition'.

    Are they just holding back or intentionally breaking the Apple and Mac versions of Minecraft to steer everyone towards Windows 10 versions and XBOX?

    Anyway, we're here with Macs and IOS, and want to be able to play like everyone else!

    Minecraft windows 10 edition, export map to Desktop version of minecraft.

    To my knowledge the windows 10 version of Minecraft is written in C++ compared to java so it wont be compatible as the windows 10 version is a UWP app which allows it to play with Xbox one and PC while the java version is standalone, you can export worlds
    from xbox to windows 10 but not from windows 10 version to java, I hope that clears up your concern

    As I have redeemed my Windows 10 version I can confirm:

    Yes, you can still use your JAVA version.

    You keep your Mojang Account that allows you to download the Java launcher, as well as the Windows 10 version.

    Unless it is a play anywhere game or a Windows 10 version then you will have to buy the Windows 10 version.

    Minecraft unable to access online

    The issue here is that you've allowed online access on Windows 10 and Xbox. There is no setting for iPad. I would recommend checking the settings on the iPad version for both the game and her account.
