    Appearing "Offline" to Friends, Can't Play Online


    Hey there,

    When I sign on to Xbox I don't appear online until a start up a game.

    After I start the game, it shows up to my friends as "Last seen (e.g 7) m ago: (Game)"

    This also I means they can't receive my messages or invites, and vice versa.

    The only way to communicate is by joining their party without an invite.

    This also means when I try to play online games such as Halo 5, it won't let me join their game, and they can't join mine.

    Please help.

    Not showing I'm online

    i have been having the same problem, but my friend says that its me not appearing online, even though i checked my privacy settings, and everything is fine. i also made sure that i am appearing as online, but i still appear offline to him, and we cannot
    connect ingame. any suggestions or help?

    Good evening,

    My xbox profile is appearing offline and i didn´t change anything. I swich to online in my profile but it swichs back to offline. I go to privacy and online safety to set eveything to allow and friends and it still appearing offline and my friends can´t play
    with me.

    Can you please help me

    Never Appearing Online

    You may be appearing offline.

    Go to "Friends" then go down to "My Profile". Once there, click "Appear offline" and change it to "Appear online".

    Blocking an account.

    Simply go to Preferences and appear offline. Unless you are playing with friends who are appearing online, he wont be able to join you , unless out of sheer luck.

    Xbox Says I'm Offline When I am Not

    When you look at your setting does it say "Show Offline" or "Show Online" If it says "Show Online" then you are appearing Offline to your friends. It is a simple toggle. When you look at it it is showing your friends the opposite of what it is showing
    you. So you if want to appear Online to your friend you will want the switch to say "Appear Offline". This may not be the issue but it has confused a number of gamers in the past. Let us know. Good Luck!
