Appear offline not working

While on the xbox app on my pc i'm always online. Even if i open the settings on my profile and select appear offline. It will not appear offline at all. I've even deleted and reinstalled the app. Not sure why a feature that simple is not working. Anyone know how to resolve that?

Keep in mind that indicator is a toggle and whatever it says on the screen you are showing the opposite to the community. When it says "Appear Online" that means if you click it you will appear online but the indicator will change to "Appear Offline". I
hope that makes sense.

Edit : going offline before changing appear offline doesn't seem to work anymore...

My son has a set amount of time during a set period, but this doesn't work. I have followed all the guidance wrt screen time, and all the suggested fixes for this problem. Internet chatter seems to suggest that appearing off line can bypass screen time.

as far as I know the "appear offline" option should not by-pass the parental control. Can you kindly give us more details about this issue? How did you notice it?
