Appear Offline Circumvented by Mobile Notifications

I think there's a bug/oversight with the mobile app feature of being notified when your friends get on. I actually kind of like the feature for my group of friends so I don't always have to send out an "Anyone want to play?" text to a bunch of people each time I'm in a social mood. However, when I boot up my xbox already in the "Appear Offline" status, my friends still get a mobile notification. This is a bit of a nuisance because I'd like to maintain my privacy when I'm just wanting to play alone. Is there any solution for this besides removing those friends, which I'm not willing to do of course.

Currently it is not possible to avoid this, unless you block the people you do not want to receive the notification, this avoids deleting them but it is also a process to be carried out

This is likely a bug which may be corrected by reinstalling the app again!

You could go and check your pop up notifications, maybe they have turned something on? To change your notification settings, press the Xbox button  to
open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Preferences > Notifications.
You can choose what to do with individual Xbox and app notifications (or turn all notifications off), adjust the duration of pop-up notifications, and more.

Whenever they do this appearing offline can help or going into settings and turning off notifications.

Before you sign in you can appear offline and once you switch online there is no notification.
