Appalling hard drive space

I have a 500GB Xbox one s and I can only hold 5 games on there and only one of them games has some DLC and it's not even all the DLC for the game, how am I supposed to enjoy playing a selection of different games on demand when there isn't the space for
them??? You could do a good thing and send me a 2tb hard drive for the lack of games I can hold on my over priced console for what it can hold, I used to enjoy playing games on the 360 a 120gb console got you absolutely loads of games with all the DLC for
them and you still had hard drive space left over. But with the prices of the consoles now it's to expensive to pay an extra £100 for an external hard drive, especially when the consoles themselves are £200+

Hey guys, I need some serious help. I recieved a 500gb xbox one for christmas along with advanced warfare and Unity. Then after both the games downloaded to the hard drive, I had already used a quarter of space! Could I have done somthing wrong?

Nope. System space takes quite a bit so you have like 360GB or something useable on a 500GB hard drive. Both ACs are like 40GB each so it sounds about right. Just buy a 1 or 2TB Hard drive and run it in to the X1, 500GB doesn't last as long as you'd think it might.

 

Hi, You're right, the hard drive space isn't the best, especially if you have the 500gb model. But external hard drives aren't that much. You can purchase 1tb, 2tb hard drives these days at a reasonable price. Amazon have some hard drives at reasonable prices.

The consoles are available with bigger hard drives. You’d have to pay more money though. If that’s the case then just buy an external drive.

 

2tb external hard drives aren't normally that expensive. You could probably get one for cheaper than that on Amazon.

 

While the HDD space leaves something to be desired, your best bet would be to pick up an external HDD to accommodate your digital purchases. If you need recommendations please let us know!

 

I do agree with some of the suggestions given. I use internal storage for apps and a few games, but primarily my external drive for most games. As time goes on, drives get cheaper, so it's worth having a good look around for deals.

I agree that the hardrive is not that big. I just ordered a 10TB hard drive off wish for like 40 bucks. Waiting for it to come in. I strongly suggest getting an external one as you can transfer files to it.

 

I used to have the 500GB and it was just a matter of managing what you want to have on. I have since upgraded to the 1TB and I feel like I have a ton of space now!

 

Wow! Be careful with that, I have seen deals like this on Wish for storage that turned out to not be what they seemed, like very low capacity drives labeled as mass volume storage.

 

I have the same problem but games are mainly just getting bigger due to higher quality textures so I have multiple Hard drives for games, one is just for games on gamepass lol

 

I have the 500gb version and can usually hold 7-10 games on it at all times, It is a little annoying to have to delete and download games if you want to play some different ones but external hard drives are inexpensive now and a 1-2TB hard drive will allow
for a lot more games.

Ebuyer in the UK is one of your cheapest options for an external hard drive and regularly do sales on them.

Also there are other versions of the console with larger hard drives.

 

I remember back in the day when I was trying to buy a 4gb memory card for my PSP and it was €150. Times have changed.
