App Password not working Xbox 360

I am having issues downloading my profile on my xbox 360. Network is fine and it is connected to the internet. I have deleted the cache, but when I enter my email, it accepts it about half the time and gives me errors the other half, saying the credentials are wrong. When I can make it to the password screen, I am entering the app password correctly, but tells me something is wrong with the credentials (error 8015000A).

Hi,

By chance do you have two-factor authentication setup on your Microsoft account?

If so, since the 360 can't use it, you need to create an App password and use that password to sign into the 360.

When I have run into my password not working on my 360, it's because I forget I need to use the app password and not my regular password.

Actually, it seems that there is some players getting the same error on their Xbox 360, could be a temporary issue in the Xbox 360 servers.

Can you please go to the
website for account protection and security, and check if you have Two Step Verification enabled?

If so, you need to scroll down a bit, to the "App Password" paragraph.

Create an app password, and use that app password on the Xbox 360, as the Xbox 360 console can't (yet) work with the Two Step Verification code requests.

I found a permanent solution that works. Login to your Microsoft account from a PC. setup 2 step verification. Then setup an 'app' password. (An app password is used to login to older MS devices like xbox 360 or windows 8 phone). Then login to your xbox
360 using the app password instead of your regular password. Then, select remember my password (if you want it to login without putting your password each time) .

Obsessive Power

The 'App password' for the Xbox 360 is a work-around for the two step verification system available for the Xbox One/Series X|S. As the Xbox 360 doesn't support 2 step, you need to use an 'App Password' on these consoles.

For the Xbox One and Series X|S consoles, you need to use your Microsoft account password.
