App/Game shortcuts now showing ms-resource names only on Home pane

My X1 froze this morning and I tried to restart it. Multiple attempts failed and I couldn't get the TV to recognize the Xbox signal through the HDMI cable. Eventually it worked after several tries but, now, the Xbox OS only shows long names on App/Game tiles.
For instance, my Messaging app shows only "ms-resource:LABEL_MESSAGIGN_APP_DISPLAYNAME" Other Apps, such as Netflix are either completely white or blank. This is only happening on the HOME pane.

Interestingly, my shortcut menu items are all intact and when I go to my Games pane, all my installed games are showing up blank and many of the Apps are showing up blank as well.

Xbox one doesn't show images???

My Xbox is not showing any of the picture's of the app and games and instead of showing me the name of the app or game, it's showing my the name of the resource pack that contains the game.

 

Xbox one tiles issue on home screen

I'm having problems with the home screen since the update. I can't see the pictures of the games, my party chats and messaging. Is frustrating because I have to guess what was the last thing I had opened up. On top of each of these tile icons it says "MS
resource app name"

 

Note that when I click on a blank App or Game, they load successfully. It just appears that the name/art is not showing up correctly.

 

If you open other games and apps to move the tiles off your home screen and then open them again to put them back, does this still happen? What I mean is, let's say Netflix is on your home screen. If you open 5 other apps and it goes off of your home screen,
and then open Netflix again, does it appear normal?

 

I've opened a bunch of apps (just to see if they load correctly -- they do, so far) and none have displayed correctly on the Home pane, even when bringing them back to the Home pane, as you describe.

FYI I'm on the preview program, so perhaps this has something to do with that...

 

I would assume it does. I had the same thing happen in Windows 10 on my start menu. If you haven't already, I would post in the appropriate thread for your OS version in the preview forums as well

 

I tried posting to that forum but it didn't give the option to submit a new post. Not sure why...

 

Strange... What OS version do you have? They just released 1506 so I'm not sure which you'd have. I'll post there for you

1506 isn't available for everybody just yet.

The first wave of people have received the update, or should have. The second wave should receive it over the next 24-48 hours.

 

I posted there for you, but I guess you're unable to post in older updates once a new one becomes available, which is why you didn't have the new post option. Hopefully when you get the update it fixes this issue for you

 

I had the same ms-resource:LABEL_MESSAGIGN_APP_DISPLAYNAME issue yesterday and today I now have a black screen on start-up (after the green xbox one screen displays). I tried power 10 seconds, power switched off, and the hold eject and power on for 5 seconds
but nothing.

 

Try turning it off by holding the power button for 10 seconds and unplugging it for 2 minutes. If that doesn't work, you'll probably want to start a new thread since you now have a different issue than the original poster so that more people will see your
post.

 

I now have 1506 but am still seeing he same issues. Wondering if should just reset the whole box...
