App Doesn't Open

I have tried and tried to get this app to work but it just won't. It was working great up until today. Now it just shows the start-up screen like it going to do something, but then the app just crashes and puts me back at the desktop (Or whatever I was in
last). I have not made any system changes. I have tried un-installing and re-installing the app and that didn't work.

Any suggestions on how I can get it back to normal?

I should also note that other apps I have downloaded from the Store such as Facebook and Twitter work fine, but Microsoft Mahjong will not work either. IS it just their apps?

Xbox app doesn't open.

I click on the app and it comes up with a whole black loading screen and then gets off the app.

 

The Xbox Store App doesn't wanna open

When I go to the search tab in the Xbox store, it loads, then fails telling me to "Check for an update or uninstall the app" Now being that this is the store I cannot delete the app, nor are there any updates. It then tells me that "The version you have
now is out of date. (0x800700d8). I'm really frustrated at the moment, because I can't access the store and nothing seems to work in the Xbox Store. If you could help I would deeply appreciate it.

Some apps will malfunction if a needed update failed to install correctly. Please try the following steps to make certain that everything is correctly up to date:

1. Press the Windows key

2. Type in Windows Update

3. Under the search bar you see on the right, choose Check for Updates

4. In the Windows Update screen, press the Check Now button

5. Even if it doesn't seem to find any updates, click on View Details

6. Install any updates you see that haven't been installed- including optional ones

7. Restart using the restart option from the shutdown menu.

Then please try these steps:

1. Press Windows Key + R

2. In the box, type wsreset.exe and press Enter

3. This will re-launch the Windows Store

4. Hover over the right-hand side to bring up the charm bar

5. Choose Settings

6. Choose App Updates

7. Choose Sync licenses

If you find that these steps show that you are completely up to date, then please try the following in order to fix any possible corruption in the game’s files. Uninstall the game and then restart your system by selecting the “Restart” option from the shutdown
menu. Once you’re back up and running, press the Windows Key+R and type wsreset.exe in the dialog box and press Enter. This will refresh and re-open the Windows Store app and you can reinstall the game.

Thanks for your help. I have tried all of your steps and still nothing. It still crashes when it tries to open. Any other suggestions? Would"Refreshing" the PC help?

Let's see if we can dig a little deeper, would you both try installing and then playing a game called Shuffle Party? We built some special error codes into this game that could give us some idea of what could be happening when you attempt to launch Microsoft
Solitaire Collection.

I had this problem with all the free versions of Microsoft/Arkadia games that load a video before play. I discovered that an automatic Windows update changed files needed by my display driver. I went to the display driver's support site, found the latest
driver, downloaded, and installed it. Problem solved.

Do not use Windows Device Manager to update your display driver, it will report that you have the most current driver even if your driver is several years old. It also won't find a newer one even if you try to search for it manually.

Thanks for trying that. As there were no error messages, I would go with what VillardDuBois suggested above and let's make certain that you have the most recent display drivers for your system.

 

I have checked and my display drivers are up to date according to Intel

 

Hello, I tried Shuffle Party and it worked fine for me. How do I find out about t he display driver?

 

Now I can not open most apps made by Microsoft (Skype, Minesweeper, etc)

We've been getting reports of antivirus programs blocking certain apps, can you try turning off any antivirus software you have running and try to open the apps again. Please let me know how this goes and I will report back to the dev/test teams who are
researching this issue.

I have tried all of the above solutions with no help, I even shut off my firewall and still nothing.

I get the same error codes each time I try to download any new apps (Error code 0x80073cf9), and if I try to apply the fix to microsoft Solitaire collection it tries to repair but just stays on repair for hours. Without repairing the App.
