App disabling mic

Discus and support App disabling mic in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I’ve had 2 headsets get the microphone disabled after downloading and setting up Dolby Atmos.     App disabling mic


    I’ve had 2 headsets get the microphone disabled after downloading and setting up Dolby Atmos. The first I thought was the headset but this one came with the Dolby atmos download and once I downloaded and set up my headset like it instructed my mic would
    no longer work. Makes me think I just wasted $100 on a new mic. Tell me how you are going to fix this major **** up?

    Party .. Help needed thanks.

    You have two options either use Kinect mic by default or the headset. However if you go into;
    Settings > Kinect
    you have the option to disable Kinect mic.

    So Why is the Xbox PC App so Bad?

    The app is garbage, it disallows me from using my mic to speak in parties for literally no reason, it works perfectly on every other communication application, but on the Xbox App it just blasts static down the mic. Broken ass app please fix.

    Hello Stratus,

    Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. I don't think there is an option to disable the mic from in the Xbox app settings. You would have to disable the mic from your windows pc settings.

    In the Settings app, navigate to " Privacy " and then to " Microphone " appearing on the left panel.

    [*]On the right panel, toggle the button to Off under " Let apps use my microphone"
    [*]You would have to adjust this setting once you are done streaming if you want the mic to be activated for other apps. There may also be a setting for you to disable the mic in your sound options as well.

    sorry to bump but thought it would be easier than starting a new thread. If you Enable Kinect but disable mic, does this just disable the kinect mic and will your headset still record your voice?
