    App crashes immediately upon launch


    Hello. I'm having the same issue many other iOS users seem to be having, which is the app crashes about two seconds after launch. This has been happening since trying to log into the app during an Xbl outage about a month ago. iOS and the app are both up
    to date. Uninstalling and reinstalling hasn't helped, updating the app hasn't helped, updating iOS, hard resets, and restoring from backups all have not helped. XBL chat support told me the app is incompatible with the latest iOS, which doesn't seem right
    to me considering that friends and family use the app on their devices with no issue, and the problem started before the latest iOS update. I'm at wits end as to how to solve this; any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Latest Xbox App Update Problems (Crashing)

    I can't even make it to the friends list...

    My Xbox app, Xbox beta, and Smart Glass apps are crashing immediately upon launch, I see the green loading screen for a fraction of a second then crash. Very frustrating.

    Xbox iOS app crashes when Network Extension API enabled

    If iOS device has app using Network Extension APIs enabled, Xbox app will crash immediately on launch. Unable to capture any useful information in iOS device log (only app started then terminated in a second) nor do I notice any crash log.

    Hey Duz! We heard back from the investigative team and they'd like to collect some additional information. If you get a chance, could you answer the following questions for us so we can pass it back to them?

    1. When you say crashing on startup, are you seeing any UI before the app crashes? If so, what screen are you seeing right before it crashes?
    2. Upon uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox App, which of the following is happening?
      1. Does it give you an option to sign in, and you can type in your account information before it crashes?
      2. Does it go straight to the signing-in screen (a green screen with a spinner on the bottom) as if it knows your account information, and then crashes?
      3. Are you not even getting any UX before it crashes?
    3. If you are able to sign in before crashing (option (a) in the list above), can you please try creating a new dummy account and sign in using that account to see if it still
      crashes? We need to determine whether this is a condition specific to your device or whether it is specific to your account before we can proceed further.
    4. Are you willing to have us pass the e-mail address that you normally use to log in with along to the teams as they would like to investigate if there is anything unusual about
      the settings of that account.



    Thanks for helping us to continue to investigate the startup issues you’re seeing – we recognize it’s frustrating and we’d like to get this figured out as quickly
    as we can.

    1. When opening the app, I get the green splash screen with the Xbox logo, and then sometimes a see a black sidebar on the left side for a split second that looks kinda squished before the app crashes.

    2. After reinstalling, iOS prompts me to accept or deny notifications from the app, but otherwise crashes immediately as normal.

    3. I cannot login to any account on this device, as I have no option to. The Xbox app on Windows 10 and my Kindle Fire seem to work fine, however.

    4. Feel free to share the email with the team.
