AOE4 has stopped loading

Hi There,

AOE4 has stopped working since the weekend and it's been working fine right from the beginning. Windows 10 and purchased from Microsoft/Xbox.

Done nothing to the system.

Tried all of the hlep ideas that I can find, reinstalled etc and still it's stuck at the loading screen.

The game page pops up, but slow and jerky graphics, no music that would normally play.

Help please.

Looks like a bug after the new patch update.

Thanks for your support.

Here is the computer spec.

The Video card is Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3 Gb.

We have switched to another spare video card and still the same problem.

We actually got the game working by disconnecting the PC from the internet.

There are a lot of people complaining about this in forums.

Most seem to think it's a random Microsoft server issue.

The other game we have works fine but that doesn't use the internet.

Yes the first time we did this we left it for a few hours and it started.

After that, restarts seemed to be quicker but then we hit the next problem which was playing with others which wouldn’t work.

Then, a short while ago, the game started to behave and we played a couple of multiplayer games without trouble. We still had to startup with no internet.

I was able to fix this by disabling Windows Defender

Do you have other games on your computer? This issue happens only with Age of Empires 4? All other games run just fine?

May I know your computer hardware? CPU, GPU and RAM please.
