Anyway to tell which controller is signed in with a certain profile?

If i have two controllers signed in ...how can I tell which is one is signed in to which particular profiles? and also if they are player 1 (P1) player (2) etc.? (from the dashboard not in a particular game)

The other day I even had a profile signed in with a little (1) beside it and the normal profile with no (1) was in my list as well. I just simply dont' understand the profile issues that I am having.

Is there a way too tell if my xbox one controller was the controller that was sold with my xbox one? Is there any way to identify that is anyway?

Xbox one has been designed so that doesn't matter, kinect can tell which controller each player is using. It means you don't have to worry about checking that you are using the controller signed in as you.

 

Well, first of all, as far as I can tell controllers don't really get associated with a profile like they did on the 360. The Kinect is able to tell who is using what controller, and so even if you swap controller while playing a game, it should continue
to work.. I've tried it. Especially useful when the battery dies, and it's simply a matter of picking up another controller and continuing. On the 360, this could be a problem if the other controller was already turned on, as it wouldn't let you sign in to
that controller without first signing out.. could be a problem if you were playing a game.

If you go into the Kinect tuner thing on the Xbox One, it will show your profile picture above your head, and if it also has a controller pic there, then it knows you're using that controller.

The two profiles are yours, and a guest profile. The Kinect will try to work out who is using which controller. Try it and see if it works.

 

What if you have kinect recognize turned off?

i did this because everytime another person or profile walked through the living room it would sign the other person out.

 

Press the Xbox button to go home, whoever's home shows up then you know who's profile is associated with that controller.

 

If you've turned the Kinect feature off (I can see why you might if that kept happening), then from the home screen you should see only the profile that is signed in on that controller highlighted at the top of the screen. The other profile will be dimmed.
If you start moving the other controller, the other profile will highlight. I've just tried this at home with my profile and a guest profile. You can select those profiles at the top of the screen and press select, and then there are options for which profile
you'd like to use for that controller.

 

It doesn't really work like that guys.....

IF you have two controllers tethered in....if you go home with EITHER controller it just goes to the last person signed in. For example....i can sign myself in under controller one on the home screen and the go back to the game and then my son can go sign
the second controller in at the home screen........and go back to the game.

But then even if I go home with my original controller that i signed in with it still shows his profile at the home screen. Only one guy can be signed in as the Homescreen person even if more than one controller is signed in....it's very strange.

 

Seems odd that it's different for two full profiles, but maybe it is, sorry. I've only tried it with a guest account and mine. I'll try and have a further play. You'd think there'd be more explanation somewhere online though... maybe they're still trying
to work out what would work best?
