Anyone remember this?

Does anyone remember when you could get people to submit a bad report for ur gtag and you had to end up changing it for free? I had so many friends do this a few years ago... Is this still possible? If so, how many votes do u need? =) Again- as my subject
says- it's just outta boredom n curiosity

oh and dont be a level one noob and tell me not to "exploit" this... **sighs** EVERYONE who is an xbox live member knows about this.. just seeing is all- im bored and curious to see who else remembers...

Total spam. I admit. But still video game related. Still one of my favorite game intros of all time. The music is rockin. and I remembered being wowed by the first game with actual voice, lol.

No you can`t do it,there are no more free changes.

 

Also it didnt work back then you could have as many people you want file a comlaint against your tag if it didnt breach the code of conduct your tag still wouldnt be changed

You were never able to do that. There was a time when a gamertag was deemed to violate the Terms of Use, you could change it to something else for free (that doesn't happen any more), but just "submitting a bad report" on any gamertag
wouldn't do it. It was only changed if the name broke the rules.

Yes you could. I had at lease 12 people I was friends with the first year i started on XBL in 2010 did it.. Beside, this was a random post... Don't get all uptight about it jeez lol

Just like today your name has to break a rule to be changed.

The only difference is, you don't get to choose a new name. A free random name is given ... you have to pay for the one you want.

Why bring this up anyway???? Sometimes, random posts should not be made.....

 

I doubt it works cause i have a lot of people who threaten me with that same thing on a daily basis

Just like always, when a name violates the rules its changed...... Like I said, the only difference is you don't get to choose your own without a payment..... you still get a name change.

I suspect a bit of untruth in your comment Vincent......... Remember, the name has to violate the TOS to be changed for free.

 

@BongKaos well its true and i know the Gamertag needs to violate the TOS but that doesnt stop people from filing complaints does it ? and yes i do not know if they go through with what they say but i do get different kinds of threats they dont bother me
but they are amusing

 

Just to clear things up i got what it seemed like messages like that on a daily basis back when i played Multi-Player games constantly. for the past few months i hardly ever played any multi player games well played a few matches in Ghost but that was a
few weeks ago so technically i havent received daily messages except a few from people that i added but after i received the messages i end up deleting them

 

Yes, this used to be a thing. Then, MS said oh hey. They're doing it on purpose now. Hmm, how can we discourage this? Now they just assign you something else. Gamertag Russian Roulette. You'll probably get something worse and still have to pay 10$ to change
your GT to something you select.
