Anyone know when the Party Chat will improve with the next update?

I can no longer go into a party and it not crash, theres no point in me starting a party because other people just get fed up of endlessly hitting the go to game chat > go to party chat and after about 20 (not joking) eventually be in the party.

Then when I am in a party and its all quiet, I have to constantly ask if the party is still working.

Its truly annoying and by far the worst party of my Xbox one experience (followed after by destiny server issues)

Also the march update will improve party chat and add voice messageing.

 

Party Chat stops working once a controller dies or disconnect

So i recently been expierencing an issue with my party chat. When ever my controller dies or disconnects, then i reconnect it, my party chat stops working. the only fix is for me to restart my xbox. there are no errors codes or does it show that im disconnected
in the party. Anyone know anyways to fix this?

 

One of my favorite things about last gen xbox was the ease/reliability of parties and messaging. They have dropped the ball so far in those categories. I'm hoping they fix them soon.

 

I don't know if it's the same issue you're having, but if you join a party and nobody's talking, I find that you can quickly and easily fix the issue by going into game chat and then right back into party chat - if it works (and it usually does), you should
start hearing people just fine (and they can hear you as well).

Don't know what to do about the crashing though - I haven't had that happen for some time...

 

Maybe try the official feedback site. The Party Chat on Xbox 1 looks too grown up or too Windows 8. It doesn't quite have the pictures ease of use and avatars which Xbox 360 has. Well Xbox 1 is not Xbox 360, it's still "Xbox". Many peps want the "Xbox" Live
Features which are still missing on Xbox 1 brought over. Those may be added in the near future. Xbox Live Party works well especially at connecting peps from US, Canada, UK, New Zealand and Australia together. Imagine the toll calls if you used your home landline
or personal phone to call an Xbox Live friend to another country. It also needs to be a fun feature which younger peps like to use. I'm sure the service will improve over time. Xbox 1 won't be even 11 months old until the 22nd of this month (released 22/11/2013).

 

I haven't been able to join or invite my girlfriend into a fire team all weekend. We are playing in the same house.

 

Just from my own personal experience I've noticed party chat runs smooth and problems free if the host NAT TYPE is open but having someone in your party with a strict nat TYPE could create problems...

 

Regardless if you have strict NAT or open NAT, ADSL Broadband VDSL Broadband or Fibre Broadband. You should still be able to enjoy a party conversation just like you can on Xbox 360. I know several friends who don't have the best internet speeds aka ADSL
which averages around 7mb/s down and 0.9mb/s up. Yet we can still have a party conversation and hear each other fine. On 360 I can even join parties from locale and other country friends and still enjoy it, even when COD BO2 says my NAT is Strict. I can fix
this by doing a network check when I cold start my 360 then the Dashboard and COD BO2 will imply I have Open NAT. I have a technicolour wireless n router from Telecom NZ and 95% of the time it gives me Open NAT. I don't want an educational lesson from some
older person on here. If M can make the Party system better take for example the Xbox Live Party feature from 360 that is boss, it will be appreciated.

 

@GG it is the same problem, but when I click go to game chat and back to party chat the party (in my words) crashes, although I am still in the party, I then have to repeat the process 20 times before it actually kicks in and I can hear people, and even
then its not 100% stable.

Also I would like to point out, I like the party system, I like the snap I like the menus, I like the way its setup, although there is still room for improvement, the bit I don't like is the stability.

 

@COD I do think although not confirmed that playing on the same IP is viewed in a negative way, I have similar issues when online with my son.

 

For the last two weeks there have been A LOT of issues with party and game chatting.

I wouldn't suggest that there are many out there who are running into a lot of issues. I am one of those persons but I'm in the preview program so I hoped it was limited to that environment.

For me the NAT is also OPEN and all port forwarding is per
portforward.com/.../Xbox_One

Other than that this tends to be an issue regardless of if you use Kinect, xbox stereo adapter and first party/third party head sets.

Lets just hope for updates

 

@smurf, do you have port forwarding setup? I have a standard ISP router and can't port forward more than 1 device for the same ports, so was considering buying a new router if it would help.

 

Yes I do have ports forwarded so I would not go out and buy a router to set this up as that doesn't seem to resolve the issue BUT in other situations it may offer or simplify setup.

If I were you I would just wait until November as I hope this is fixed prior to then.

Catch a Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale for a new router/modem combo as mine cost $200 which is a bit expensive just for chat problems.

My and my wife work from home in additional to our entertainment games and movie desires this was a very reasonable investment.

I was considering it more, when I had more destiny issues but they seem to be getting fewer by the day, so much less of a thought now TBH.
