Anyone know if I an use beats as a mic on the xbox one

Yes and no. Beats was bought by Apple sometime ago. And Apple/Beats use a different wiring standard (OMTP). The Xbox controller uses the standard that Android phones use (CTIA).

What that means is that the mic and ground wire are flipped. So when you plug in your beats headset into the controller you will be able to hear others but your mic won't work or it will just make noise.

You would need to get an OMTP to CTIA adapter.

All you need is a $5 omtp to ctia adapter on ebay. I have the beats studios and the mic was not working bought this adapter and inline mic now works with the xbox one adapter!

I'm afraid not. Only those Xbox compatible headsets are the ones that can be used due to a different type of connector that they use.

A friend and I have had issues trying to use the beats headsets on Xbox and I don't know if it's because it's an apple device but the mic has never worked. It was easier just getting a gaming headset for chat and then using the beats for solo mode.

I know this wasn't the answer you were expecting but I don't believe there's a setting to weak on this one because I had tried all of them

Ok.. I finally got that mic today and I can confirm that this mic does work with both the Beats studio and the Xbox one adapter!!!! I am so excited! Granted it cost me an extra $30, but my Beats even sound better! Hope this helps someone. Again, Got the
