Anyone ever successfully obtained a refund for a digital purchase?

give it a try, if the first india guy wont help you call back until you get the phillipines, if they dont help call until you get the sir lanka call center...just keep trying, one of them will refund you im sure. If they want to push for all digital they're
going to have to get rid of that "no refunds on digital content" clause as its bs for consumer rights. If you're unhappy with a product then you have a right to a refund, those kind of clauses have got to go in a "digital age".

 

just go on Microsoft chat, that's how I did it and it was resolved in 10 minutes tops.

 

Yeah I got a refund for WWE 2k15 last weekend. The game is broken and constantly crashes

 

Yeah I got a refund for Halo MCC too. When I asked the woman what the refund policy was her words where " you have 30 days to return a digital game ". When I asked if you could return a game purely on the basis you didn't like it, I got no reply. So I'm
not sure what the exact policy is, however have a chat online with Microsoft and see what they say.

 

Yep, MS chat is how I did it too. 10 minutes sounds about right.

 

Yes I got a refund for a digital copy via MS chat....but my reason was different. I had found a Xbox+Destiny bundle (2nd Xbox) hence needed to cancel my pre-ordered digital Destiny. Was done and dusted in less than 10 mins.

Generally MS Chat are very good.

 

Technically, you don't have a "right" to a refund. It plain as day states, "There are no refunds for this product." on the page when you make your purchase. MS giving these refunds out is just them making a sound business decision to try and keep their
customers happy. They don't have to offer them. This isn't a digital only issue. Imagine going to Gamestop, buying a game, opening it, playing it and trying to return it. Gamestop don't have to take it back. (I don't know what their policies are. They
might not even take back opened games, but they'll gladly sell them as new. Boom!)

 

In the 11 years I've been on XBL, I've requested a refund one time. I had purchased the Weapons Pack for BF3. The description sounded as if you got every weapon in the game unlocked... only to find out it was only a few select weapons. I called and complained
right away... the guy said that because I've been a customer for so long and this is the first time, they would credit my account. And of course I got to keep the DLC which was a nice bonus.
