Anyone ever add funds via a code and redeem it, only to have it disappear?

Hi -

I've been an Xbox live member for years and never once had a problem adding code to my account and redeeming them, and using funds to buy content.

On Saturday, Jan 2nd I added a 25 dollar gift card to my account that my son got as a Christmas gift. The code redeemed and added the funds to my account, giving me a balance of $28.44, which is actually my balance as of today. I was going to purchase the
Dead Rising 3 Apocalypse Edition that is $29.99 plus tax, and was lamenting being a couple of dollars short. Since the amount was added, I tossed the card in the trash.

I logged off and didn't use my Xbox One until yesterday, the 7th, when I added another 25 dollar card. I was planning on getting Dead Rising 3 with the 10 DLC for the hyper game mode. When I added the card, it redeemed just fine, but noticed my balance
was only $28.44.

In looking at my transaction history, the 25 dollars added from yesterday appears, but not the 25 dollars from 1/2/16. It's as if it never happened.

I contacted support and was hoping they could dig a bit deeper into my account or the transaction logs (if they exist) and see if they could find anything. They told me that if I could get the code number I entered they could look that up. The person who
bought it doesn't remember the exact date and time, does not have a power card and used cash to buy it, didn't get a gift receipt, so this would really take a lot more effort to attempt to get this info, even if Gamestop would help.

Now, you'll just have to trust me when I say I added 25 bucks on the 2nd and it added the funds to my wallet. I have no reason to go out of my to contact support AND then blog here about it for a paltry 25 bucks.

Has anyone ever seen or heard of this issue happening before? It sort of reminds me how a database transaction posts, but needs to be committed to a database or they will be rolled back. I wonder if something like that is possible?

I'm most likely going to be out the 25 bucks, but figured I would try here as a longshot to see if there was anything else I could try, or call back support and try.

Why is my only option to add payment option when trying to purchase dlc?

I bought the day one xbox one and since I've had it i cant buy dlc. It only lets me add a payment option but I have microsoft funds/currency is anyone else having this same issue? I dont want to add a credit card i want to use the funds that i own!

Does Fallout 4 come with an actual code, or is it a Rare Replay situation where you would put in the disc and it would automatically add it to your Games list?

 

Sorry to hear it. If the funds were there and are now missing but phone support cannot find them then you only have one other option.

Give phone support another call and ask to have the issue Escalated. They will send it to an advocacy team who will look further into the issue.
