Anyone else's Xbox One S having problems shutting down?

Just got my 2TB XBONE S about 3 weeks ago, and I've noticed my Xbox has been struggling to shut off (by using the system settings to shut down) after playing for a good 2-3+ hours on it. The xbox light on the system would stay blinking and I've given the
console as much as 5 mins to shut of and its still not shutting off, so I have to shut it down using the power button on the console.

I domt believe I have any pending updates or installs that are keeping the Xbox on. After a couple of attempts the Xbox will finally shut down. Anyone else experienced this?

Xbox one wont turn off my LG TV

I have just got my xbox one and it is working great the only problem I have is although the xbox one will turn my TV on when it starts up it won't turn it off on shut down. I have an LG, As anyone else had this problem and know how to correct it or is it just one of those things I will have to put up with

Hey SERIOUS DP -

Please double check that your Xbox One console is fully up to date. Start at your Xbox One dashboard:

• Open the Guide menu
• Scroll down to Settings
• Select All Settings
• Select Console
• Choose Console Info and Updates
• Check if there are pending updates
• If there is an update, please apply it

If there are none and you continue to experience the issue, you may want to try to

factory reset your console using the "keep my games and apps" option.

Same here.

A factory reset seems a bit harsh, although I've got all games and apps on an external drive.

But I hope Microsoft will look into this problem, instead of just "defaulting" to CTRL-ALT-DELETE.

Please note that the factory reset I recommended allows you to keep your games and apps. However if you have everything on an external, you could always attempt the full reset as well if you want a totally blank slate.

Oh, I know.

It's just that I'd wish a reply like "we'll look into that" or "tell us more - we want to to solve that",

instead of "have you tried turning it off and on?".

But sure - if this persists, I'll resort to that.

 

I had that issue, and the fact that it wouldn't stay on Instant On. Reset it keeping games and apps, then applied the update manually via usb. Problem solved. Think the migration of my account and games confused the *** out of it going from the one to
the S.
