Anyone else think "next Gen" is Mehh

My "next gen" story reads like this.. brought XB1 on release, it had a few problems which I wasn't happy with so I sold it, I brought a PS4 and felt the Xbox gamer inside of me saying its the Halo's, Gears, Forza's that you want to be playing.. so I swaped
back to XB1, and so far with my current console im not happy with it.. as it has an annoying fan sound which the shop say's is normal. But I feel I just can't be asked with them, there seems to be nothing to keep me playing it for longer than an hour.

I had more fun and still think the 360 is a better machine, its a gaming machine. my XB1 feels like im wasting half of it as it just sat in my spare room only for gaming.

Now in my head im thinking I just want a games console! non of this TV/movies stuff, (lets face it a % of the XB1 power is for that feature) so now im debating if moving from PS4 was a good move (BF4 is just leagues better on ps4) or just ditch next gen
and go buy another 360.

What is "Next Gen"?

When i was a kid next gen always meant better graphics to me ...That was it ..

Now i just look at it as just what it says ..Next gen up,I mean of course the tech will change but,targeting the next generation of gamers is what i think its all about .

 

Buy a PC if its about power buy a PS4 or X1 if its about games. Fellow the games.

 

might just wait and see where Titanfall takes me..

 

no I am not disappointed at all. MAybe you are getting over gaming? I have 12 XB1 titles and still, 3 - 4 months after launch, I cannot wait to get home and decide what I am playing tonight! (Titanfall, duh) LOL so maybe its just your experience or something,
I am loving next-gen!

 

Yes don't buy a X1 or PS4 just cause of the power or cause people say to buy it cause of the games you like or want that it has to offer. You might want to wait a year because that's when all the good X1 games come out. Up to you.

 

Not sure what most people expected in a "next gen" console. I mean all it is short for is "Next Generation" meaning a newer model after the previous model...

I know it may seem like there is no difference... but seriously... it has been 5 months... and the 360 took years to get where it is...both consoles will be light years ahead of what they are now...I just think the XB1 has more potential and more route
options to get there...

It shouldn't matter who makes it, There are plenty of games on each to keep you happy all year round. And enjoy it all......

 

I tend to see PS4 gamers going "meh" more than the XB1 gamers when it comes down to titles to play.

The only thing I say "meh" to is to the XB1 lack of certain features that were on 360. Just like when I get annoyed a sequel to a game loses features/modes that the original had, this applies.

Other than that, I did get the Xb1 to play games and that it does quite well.

 

I can't believe you had an x1 sold it for a ps4 sold that to go back, how much money you loose ? could have had both.

 

Definitely enjoying my X1 experience so far. I went back to my 360 (put in BL2) for the first time since early November and just couldn't do it lol. Still love it tho for HBOGo and I will be starting my South Park playthrough but man, I instantly missed
my X1. Not to mention things will only get better going forward.

 

As of right now, I don't see much reason to jump yet. But these are new consoles so the lack of games is expected.

 

Xbox One uses 3GB RAM for 'movies and stuff', PS4 uses 2.5GB - so throw that argument out. Difference between the next-gen consoles is miniscule, it's all about games. I like to know how you'd justify 'BF4 is just leagues better on ps4'?

 

because it is 900P compared to 720P... The "Need AMMO" kinect command alone makes the pixel count difference worth it to me...
