Anyone else seeing their 360 stay in background download mode when off during this service issue? Ever since the attacks my 360 stays in low power downloading mode when off. When I can get in for 5 seconds to see there is a download there isn't one.

Xbox download question

I noticed this when I was downloading the dreadful MCC collection game/update, but does anyone notice a big drop off is their download speed when they shut their console off? Not energy saving off, but the one where it still downloads in the background. Seriously when my Xbox is on and awake, I see speeds double when it comes to how many GB'S per hour you are getting downloaded. Does this happen to anyone else?

You need to enable Background Downloads.

System Settings - Console Settings - Startup and Shutdown - Background Downloads - Enable.-

Now you can turn your 360 off and it will continue to download in a low power mode. It will turn itself off completely when done.

Same with me. I have no downloads and I don't have the battery charger connected. Nothing plugged in except hdmi, Ethernet, and power.

If the green dot is flashing on the XBOX 360 once every 10 seconds this means that you have background download enabled on the console. This enables the console to finish downloading whatever content you have set downloading even after the console has finished
powering off.

Try to disable background downloading by following the directions below, and then see if it still does the same:

Settings > System > Console Settings > Startup and Shutdown > Background Downloads > Turn this off and then restart the console and see if it stays on.

Do you have Cloud Storage or Background Downloads enabled? If so the 360 will stay on for a little while after you turn it off.
