anyone else on their third or more XBOne within the first year?

This is rediculous... third one within 8 months of purchasing? meanwhile my xbox 360 is still chugging along, and what upsets me most, is that you either lose 30 days of your warranty by sending the faulty one in and waiting for it to return, or lose $15
from the advanced exchange program. You'd think they (Msoft) would try to compensate you a little for your time, money, and loyalty they are wasting.

Anyone else wish this game was first person instead of third person? This game looks awesome, but the fact it being third person may keep me from buying it.

 

Nope still on my original, sorry to hear you've gone thru 3 consoles but no one forced you to use advanced exchange.

Just sent my replacement back after one day. Disc drive not working (same problem as my original), so I too am about to get my third one since February.

 

I'm on my third one which is starting to fail. The Disc Drive is getting exceptionally loud now... still reading and works fine as long as a disc isn't in... but I didn't buy an Xbox to have something that can't play discs!

 

My first xb1 just wouldn't fully turn on after just over a month. About 5 seconds after pressing the on button, it would lock up and shut back off. A few days ago my second ones disc drive stopped pulling discs into the system. It still ejects just fine
if you force a game in, but will not load the game no matter how far in you push it. I still love the system and its capabilities, but it's concerning to think that if this happens past March of next year, it'll be out of warranty and i'll be S.O.L. I realize
upfront that the system only comes with a year warranty, but does anyone expect to get less than 3 years out of a gaming system?

 

@ProGamer4Life13: I never said anyone did. I only commented that if you don't use the advanced exchange, you are losing a full month out of your warranty and gaming time. I think the advanced exchange is still more worth doing than waiting the 30 days to
get your system back, it's just the lesser of 2 evils.

What do I need to do to get a replacement I've been struggling with the same thing and didn't get insurance since my 360 work's great I thought I wouldn't have a problem with this one.

you just need to contact the xbox service group and let them know the issue. They'll check to make sure yours is still under warranty and then approve/deny the warranty process.

 

JRobes, let me ask a related question - how is your system plugged in? Directly to a wall, or into a surge protector/power strip? I ask because three consecutive failures is a VERY high number, I, like many, am still on my first system. I have asked this
of a number of people and it turns out to be the cause of the problem - if your system is plugged into a power strip what happens is, since the Xbox One Power Supply ALREADY has a surge protector in it, you are basically filtering the flow of power through
two surge protectors, and this dampens or chokes the power flow, ESPECIALLY during startup when the system is pulling extra voltage for the various components coming online. What happens then is, over time, parts will fail outright. This was one of the leading
causes of RRoD on the Xbox 360, and has continued to be an issue with X1 (it's actually listed in the setup instructions that the power supply should be into a wall rather than a power strip, but it's easy to miss that.)

Don't worry, if you've been into a strip, that won't void your warranty, but it's worth it to free up space in a wall outlet - sometimes existing issues are actually resolved by this increased flow of power, but even in the worst case scenario of another
console replacement, plugging into a wall will prevent any future system failures related to a diminished power flow.

#2 refurbished xbox one had processor fan problems and no wireless controller would connect over 3 feet

#3 pending being shipped back to me

I have the xbox plugged directly into the wall outlet. everything else in my entertainment system is plugged into a power strip. After the issue with my first, MS tech support gave me that advice and I've been following it since.
