Anyone else interested in COD or BF going WWII again?

I must admit I liked the modern stuff when it first came out. A breath of fresh air but I am starting to miss the Garand, Kar98, and mostly am getting sick of the "modern" stuff being more along the lines of sci-fi futuristic weapons.

BF is fun with jets, but the maps are so small for them, not the infantry but (BF3 anyhow) flying around in a jet is mostly a turn around until you find something affair. Would love to get back into a Corsair where the maps would seem to fit a bit better.

Plus would love to see WWII themed game with newer graphics. Anyone else share this dream of going back again?

Modern Shooters vs World War II Shooters

in a way, i miss world at war and i miss the original BF1942, i'd defo love a good ww2 shooter, i know it's been done to death but i love the era, used to spend hours upon hours on day of defeat, be nice to hear the ping of the Garand ejecting a spent clip
again lol Nice open field for a new one maybe a refreshed medal of honor would be nice instead of trying to go into the future and be the same as everything else

 

I would love COD 2 remade into next gen.... no need for a whole new series... too many of them as it is

 

I agree Medal of honor should stay in the WW2 not modern. I would buy that in a heartbeat before the modern stuff.

 

Yeah cod 2 was great and the campaign was soooooo hard. It would be nice to have it back and have just plain multi player with no kill streaks no scopes on guns besides the sniper. Honestly though I think the whole FPS genre is getting stale its seems like
every couple of months a new FPS game comes out.

 

Oh hell yes I would looooovvvveeee a new WW2 game. I seen that activision is going to have three companies making COD now. One for ghosts, one for black ops and one for modern warfare. So basically we are going to have three games based on modern combat.
What are trying to do. Drown the market. And battlefield could do both. They always wanted to go yearly like COD, so why do modern one year and WW2 the next. Oh how I miss my M1 Garand!

 

Medal of Honor Airborne was really underrated IMO. I would love to see another WW2 game but NOT in the COD series. I know its where they started, but the current direction they are going with all the perks and kill streaks it wouldn't feel right. Kinda
like in WaW when I first heard the narrator call out "DOGS!!!!". I was like dogs? WTF

 

Cod 2 was bar none the best WWII shooter ever made. In my opinion. If they wanted to re-make it, I'd support that fully but I don't think that would ever happen. The thing is, with what people expect from Cod these days, the perks and sights would have to
be very thought out and very clever. Still, Call of Duty 2 with a Hardpoint mode or a Search and Destroy mode would be epic.

i prefered COD3 infact i still have COD3 wasnt it COD3 that had medic boxes and ammo boxes for ur team mates

 

CoD 2 was awesome. When I saw that playing on the demo 360 at Best Buy during launch I was hooked. CoD 3 was underrated as well IMO. Also, it had vote to kick, which I always thought was a great feature (I'm in the minority I know).

 

I'm hoping the next battlefield will be a futuristic sequel (BF 2143).
