Anyone else having regrets? Feeling ignored? I am. (truth sorry, read before you judge)

So maybe Microsoft will get in here and give us a response but I won't hold my breath. And as title says, read before you judge. Apologies now for the winded, long post to follow. That being said:

So when Xbox one came out, I set myself up big time. I purchased and Xbox One, Power Star Golf, a year of (Killer Instinct) Live Gold, three extra controllers, and all, yes ALL available games. Well over a grand. I know this sounds stupid but I had faith.
I have never owned a Sony anything, nor have I had the desire to do so. I have always had a Microsoft console in my house since two days after the original Xbox release.

So fast forward a couple months after release here. I sit here now and I am annoyed:

That the Kinect listens like a stubborn child. You have to shout and repeat yourself seven times. My daughter doesn't have to be told to do something as many times as my Xbox One does and she is pre-k.

Every time I get an email or see something on Facebook about a sale or a games with gold release, it's 360 only. YES I REALIZE the system is new, and patience is a virtue but it's a lot. The new WWE network is for everything but Xbox One, the re-release
of Injustice is for everything but Xbox One, Crunchyroll has been updated for everything but Xbox One, Windows Media Center doesn't work for Xbox One (they want you to "play to" with Windows 8, which I DID find a way around THIS but still. I should not have
had to).. See a pattern? Wasn't this supposed to be a "do everything" console. It does nothing. Well okay that's not fair but it does less than the 360 I already had. Not to mention how enjoyable it was to search for these in the first place when Bing is shoved
down our throat instead of a traditional store like on the 360. An almost "app store" kind of feel.

So kind of the straw that broke the camels back. Earlier today I received my beta invite for Project: Spark. (yay) I was excited. Very excited really. So I open my email, click the link and what do I see? "we would love to let you in but you do not have
Windows 8" I don't have a touch screen PC because the very idea of them is idiotic. When I am playing Skyrim, Wow, or whatever I want my PC not a tablet. "Die dragon! I shall poke thee with my finger like Angry Birds!" Yeah no thanks. So I don't need the OS
that is built for a PC style that annoys every ounce of nerd in me. But, if I want to get the full functionality out of my Xbox One, play the Project: Spark beta, stream media easier, I need to pay triple digits for an OS I don't want on top of the THOUSANDS
of dollars I spent for the console hook up I DID want. I don't want a touch screen monitor, I don't want Windows 8 and depressingly for the first time since I was a teenager I am starting to not want my new Xbox One either.

I can't be the only one that feels this way. I hear people all the time while playing something online; "Xbox, go home... Xbox go home!... XBOX GO HOME, GO HOME" I convinced Sony fan boy friends to buy Xbox One instead, which now I feel bad because this
is kind of a mutual feeling between us.

If Xbox doesn't start Games for Gold, sales, and functionality for those of us who decided to move forward with them, I am done to be honest. And no I am not saying or for that matter implying they should pretend 360 doesn't exist, that would be uncool too.
I am saying "Xbox you have two consoles, pay attention to more than one of them" I am a thoroughly loyal Xbox fan and they're about to lose me.

Weird feeling

Does anyone else besides me have a weird feeling that this is going to get delayed again? I hope it doesn't, but i can't escape this feeling that i am having..

 

No regrets. Not feeling ignored either. Updates will come and things will evolve over time and get better and better.

 

No regrets here. As far as that beta key you got, name me a game that does a console beta before a pc beta? That key will work on xbox one once the beta goes live

Edit: Most of your post is just whiny drivel. You sound like one of those self entitled people who have absolutely zero patience. You want games for gold already? You bought everygame what are you going to get for free then?

 

people do realize that the system came out less than 2 months ago we are clearly not being ignored since Marc Whitten came out and said an update is coming to fix our "issues" we have. Updates take time to make and they also need to test the update to make
sure it doesn't brick the systems. Quality takes time so be patient. Plus the project spark xbox one beta is coming soon....its easier to code for a pc hence pc getting most betas first not just this one

In regards to backwards compatibility, any chance Microsoft has seen the PlayStation Now service. The program that will allow PS4 users to play PlayStation, PS2, PS3 and PS4 games off the cloud.

Mate seriously. It's been less than two months. And if your not happy with the xbox then there are multiple other choices available. Pc, wii, playstation, or you could just stick with last gen till they get it all sorted.

 

The xbox 360 was out for nearly 8 years before the One came along.... look how many changes, updates, tweaks, etc it went through throughout its life time. The One has been out two months... if you are that worried that they arent going to fix things
maybe you need to invest in some therapy rather than a gaming system. You arent being ignored, just give it some time. You know how long it takes people to develop software and games. OR any project for example. It takes time to do things and make them
right... just because they arent screaming out their window every time they progress an inch, "HEY EVERYONE LOOK WHAT WE DID, ANOTHER LINE OF CODE!!!" .. doesnt mean nothing is happening. Major Nelson himself has said hes been seeing what people are suggesting
and appreciates it. So just calm yo t i t s

 

Murder...they didnt just say oh lets make and release an xbox one today. No like you said it takes time. I assume they started working on it years back. so its not like they didnt have time to do anything

 

No regrets at all.... and voice commands continually amaze me at just how good they work! So not sure where you are coming with that complaint...... maybe its the user and not the hardware? you have to know when and what to say.

The one thing I will say is going from a platform that has thousands of games to a platform that has about 30?...that hurts a little..... but as an early adopter you need to understand that's part of the gig. But I've had a blast with bf4.and nba2k14 and
to a lesser extent forza 5

I can't wait to play PS1/PS2/and PS3 games on my PS4. There are a lot of PS1 games that I never played b/c I was an N64 fan.

Truth be told....if MS had something like this I would buy it. I would play Rallisport Challenge 2....all....day.....long.
