Wow, so many in here that have/had GF and hated it... I've had it for probably 5+ years now and have had little trouble with it.

The one thing I've found, and I think most people don't realize how it works or perhaps that it works the way it does, is how you maintain your que.

Games in short supply (and it happens often enough) are shipped out in priority of how long they've been
in the top position of your que. In other words, let's say you and one other person are waiting on a game (obviously that means it's at the top of both your ques). When a copy comes in, they have to decide who gets priority. The one who will get the
next available copy is the one who has had the game at the top position of their que longer. The way I understand it, the 'timer' only applies to the top position of the que. Move that game down to #2, or move another game to #1... and the timer resets. Moving
a game that's been on your que for months from a lower position to the top isn't the same.

Once I learned that it worked that way, I decided to manage my que a little differently. One trick I use is to make sure that I have games with future release dates at the top of my que, in the order they release. I put them there ASAP and leave it alone.
That way each future release has all that time to sit and accrue in the top position.

Older games can stay on a lower position. Usually they're more available and it's less important to have them at #1. Also, if the top game(s) on your que haven't released yet, they'll ship the next available game on your que anyway. Of course that means
you'd have to give up the #1 position and may have to wait a bit longer for some older game(s)... but then again, if they're older games and you haven't played them yet, they probably weren't that big of a deal (at least to you).

Several years ago, GF was bad for waiting. I don't think they're as bad as they used to be. As for the turn around time, I haven't had much trouble... but since I manage my que the way I do and the fact that I live about 40 minutes from Pgh, PA (which is
a location of one of their distribution centers) I rarely have to wait more than 4 days total from the time the game leaves my mailbox, until the new game arrives and usually it's only 3 days.

^^Thats all fine and dandy however if it takes a week to get a game that has a High availability like Deus Ex which is a couple of years old that is a problem.

  3. ^^Of course there are going to be circumstances where it doesn't work... those kind of situations have happened to me as well. Thing is (in my experience) they're the exception, not the rule.

    Anyone else have Gamefly?

They were always the rule for me. When I used gamefly the newest game I had in my list was Dragons Dogma and even that was several months old. The service for me was very poor. If it works for you I am glad but Ill just buy the games I want and wait for
sales on the games I dont.

  5. Thank you for the feedback guys. I'll let you know when I get TR and we'll see if my service will be good. I'm hoping I get it Sunday afternoon or so after work. I'm off the rest of the day and the next day.

I've had Gamefly for 6 years ( 3 game plan ) and have no complaints.

I live in Southern Calif and games are shipped from the Long Beach distribution center so I get games the day after they ship and are normally received by them the day after I mail it back. I have 5 systems so my Q is always full and I normally get a game
    in my top 5.

They have a new option that allows you to hold shipment for 3 or 7 days to have a better chance of getting your top game.

With all the garbage games that are getting turned out at 60 bucks a pop, Gamefly is a must have in my book.

Gamefly worked fine during my trial phase. I put a game in my que and it was there the next day. The distribution center is within 50 miles of my house. I was stoked about the service.

However after my trial ended it would take 17 days for me to get a game. I was paying for two games a month and that was almost 30 days combined wait time. Which, at the time was well beyond their website estimates. That included sending it back and getting
another one and twice they lost the game and once it was so badly scratched it wouldn't play which took ever longer to get to me. Their customer support is a joke and I cancelled after the 3rd month and kept the lost game that arrived almost 2 months later
as compensation for the money wasted waiting on games to get to me.

Google their shipping and you will see how bad they are. I also found out that they filed a complaint against the post office for the way they were handling their discs. They wanted to be treated the same as Netflix was despite having only a handful of distributions
centers. Needless to say they won their complaint and the post office wasn't happy. Which may or may not explain why there are so many lost packages and shipping delays. And there are shipping delays.

Hopefully the future will be more like PSNOW and we don't have to use services like Gamefly. I will never go back to them again.

    Anyone else have Gamefly?

I hated gamefly when I used. I would send a game back on a Saturday, get confirmation that the USPS contacted gamefly that they had the game, and then I would get another game by Friday or Saturday. And all of the games I had picked were available now and
    old games.

I live in Maryland and there is a distribution center in Pennsylvania, and it still took forever. I would assume that is where your games would come from too Defy.

WHen i had it its based on availability on the game first in queue, also by how far you are to a distribution center took 3 days from when i sent a game back when they got it and another three days to send another i live in NC and the two distributions i
had was Florida and i think micghigan
