Anyone else have a problem with The Witcher 2 gameplay?

I don't know if it's the game, my xbox, or my save but for some reason I can't get past the part where
(SPOILERS) you have to break out of prison. I've tried provoking and just plain saying, "Hey I'm free come get me!" and both times I get stuck on the QTE fight. I've tried re-starting my game and re-loading it to that part (including watching
instead of skipping cutscenes) but each time I get stuck on that part.

It's not like I'm bad at it, I'm actually really good at QTE fights but this one goes on FOREVER and sometimes the guard glitches so he's standing off to the side stiffly while I'm pushing buttons and swinging at what appears to be nothing.

Does anyone have a solution besides re-downloading the game? Because my internet sucks horribly and I'd rather not have to wait like, 4 hours before it's downloaded again.

I started playing The Witcher 3 about a week ago. The game ran fine except for one or two little almost unnoticeable stumbles. Now I'm 17 hours into the game and at the mission Get Junior and the game seems to be having somewhat significant issues. I'm not sure what the same is doing, it seems like a framerate drop but a bit different. During both cutscenes and gameplay the screen will randomly go blurry and pause for a second. It did this once or twice in the first few hours I played the same, but now it seems to be doing it about one time every three minutes or so.

The reason I ask is because the game didn't run this badly until very recently. I don't know if the framerate is just dropping to literally zero for a second or if my disc is somehow messed up. This seems different from framerate drops that I'm familiar with in certain other games.

This pause happened to me but nowhere near as regular as its happening to you. Are you using your Xbox with the instant on feature? If you are then it might be worth turning your Xbox completely off (hold power button for 5 secs) and back on again. Might not be that but could be worth a try.

 

I think that's because no matter what you do in that part, you have to complete the QTE to continue. If the solider isn't glitching every time, I would say to just keep at it.

What difficulty are you on as well? Maybe try dropping it back until you get used to it, the fighting in this game takes some getting use to and does feel awkward at first.

 

I have drop my game to easy. And you will have other QTE during the game play. Anyone know if QTE return in Witcher 3 and when does w3 drop?

 

I have it on normal but like I said, the only problem I'm having is that QTE fight. The guard gets to like half health and then he goes and glitches. I even re-downloaded the game, the only thing I haven't done is deleted my saves and tried with a new one...which
I'm starting to think I'll have to do.

And if that doesn't work...screw this game.

I actually saw a video of someone fighting the guard on youtube and literally he only had to smack him around a few times and he was down but I spent over 3 minutes punching him (successfully with no mistakes) which only got him to half health, then an additional
3 minutes to see if I could beat him while he was glitched with no luck...and yes, I timed it.

Do you happen to be holding down LT when fighting? Make sure to not be pressing any other buttons while waiting on the QTE prompts. See how you go.

Thanks but no, I didn't hold the LT. I did try at one point and jammed the X button or just randomly spammed the other buttons hoping that it'd work but it didn't. I'm actually incredibly annoyed to say that the game still wouldn't let me do anything but
I managed to get past that part even though I hate it.

I was playing on normal so I had the thought that maybe if I played it on easy then I'd be able to kill him faster in the QTE but I was still glitched. It worked until he got to half-health again...so I ended up deleting all of my saves and starting the
game over on the easy setting. It worked but I'm just annoyed that I have to play a game on EASY. Seriously, I haven't played a game on easy mode in a loooong time. It makes me feel like a noob >_>

Hey I'm not THAT old...I just haven't played a game on the easy setting in like, 10 years...well, of my own volition anyway. I can't help it very much if some of the people who want me to game with them like playing on easy but a game just
isn't that fun on a setting where there is basically no challenge at all.

If it's any consolation, you have to do two playthroughs for all the achievements anyway, haha. I know that probably isn't, though I did two myself. You also get the best armour on the hard play through, well that is if you go out of your way to craft it,
but it helps a lot.
