Anyone else have a hard time getting used to buying digital for AAA games?

I prefer physical. I like getting money back even if it's only a little. Digital is okay when there is a good sale but that's it

Sell game rights

When I used to finish playing a game, I would sell the hard copy as used to help fund the buying of new games. Now there are digital copies, can I sell my digital copy?

Anyone else having a hard time getting a game online? I get to the tip off then the connection drops. Don't know if anyone else is having the same problem???

 

AAA or not, I do prefer physical, especially with games I'm not too sure I'll play through more than once or twice. I love trading in/selling my games, makes buying new games a bit cheaper

 

As soon I got my X1 I started with digital downloads. The ease of buying from my couch is wonderful. I realise about the trade options discs have but this does not drive my purchase options.

I generally prefer "real" physical copies - heck, I collect Atari 2600 and 7800 games. Some of my working cartridges are literally 35+ years old. Still work great. I am under no illusion that the digital stuff I "own" (really "license") can be passed around
and treasured by my kids' generation like my old Atari games.

That said, I "bought" The Witcher 3 digitally a couple weeks ago because of the convenience. I started the download, went to go watch a college football game, and when my game was over, I had a new videogame to play. That was pretty convenient.

 

I go for the cheapest option on disk. I'd rather pay $60-70 dollars for a new release game than $100 plus RRP.

It also saves using too much of the download internet quota.

I did the taboo the other day and traded in a few games to EBgames I wasn't really playing anymore to help pay for Fallout 4. I will be price matching with them also as they charge full price for games. Might not get the exclusive bonus stuff but no biggie.

I have bought a few digital games when they were on sale and cheap.

 

Even though I prefer physical, I still refuse to buy them in a store like Gamestop. They charge €79.99 for new games when I can buy the disc online for €49.99 from an online retailer.

 

Digital is just way more convenient and takes up no physical space, in my oppinion.

 

I prefer digital so I don't have to fool around with discs, but after being burnt by purchasing BF:Hardline digitally and regretting it I make sure I do my homework before buying it.

^^^ Well, how fast is your 'net connection? And how fast is your Wi-Fi link? But more importantly, so what if it takes a couple hours? Start the download overnight, go to bed and wake up to play your new game - two weeks ago I finally bought The Witcher
3. I started the download, turned on a college football game, and 3-1/2 hours later when the football game was over, I was ready to play my new game.
