I've had the xbox for about six months now and the UI guide is still very frustrating. It's hard to access your friends list, see what they are doing(sometimes it just sits there loading), or read simple messages. My social activity on the system has definitely
decline because of it. I have a hard time doing everything, like accessing recent players for friend request. I hope there is some kind of update to fix this because the current system is a failure and a step down from the 360 in my eyes.

    :)

This convinces me to go an entire Prestige just using the Assault Shield.

I haven't had any issues with it either. The "Recent Players" section loads up soooo much faster than the 360's ever did. When was the last time you did a hard reboot of the console? Do you quit out of unused apps?

  5. Yes i quit out of unused apps. The *** thing takes a long time to load while in games and it's hard to navigate.

I hate the whole UI itself.

  7. Thank you. I knew i wasn't the only one. The 360 guide was a lot better. Easy to get to and easy to navigate. I just understand how they step backwards with UI's. Just like Windows 8. Don't get it.

So, what? You were just looking for validation then? Well, congratulations...

For me personally, I think the UI for either console (360 and the One) works just fine. The One has a bit of a learning curve, but it comes with tutorials and an easy to use help menu that makes things very easy. Anyone else HATE the new "guide" system? ;)

i'm actually wondering if we are talking about the X1 or not, what is so hard about accessing the friends list? it's right there, plain as day and larger than life, it is a little different than the 360, but no harder or easier, just different.

and the dashboard will change, some people view MS as messing up a ton of things, but they understand that they have to keep changing and innovating, otherwise the console really will dead and then we'll really see what "anti-consumer" means.

Well both work fine but I'd love the 360 on the X1, I do much prefer it.

    To the OP.

How is it hard to access your friends list? If your on the dashboard just go to friends, if your in a game just say "Xbox snap friends" it's not difficult.

I have no problem with the design of the UI - I rather like it, but, I've said this before, it is extremely slow.

People appear to have different experience of the UI in terms of performance, hence I have to conclude it's related to network issues (maybe to do with proximity/MS configuration regarding nearest MS' UI servicing servers).

It is to do with network issues, nearly everything on the UI is dependant on the internet. This allows you to sign in on a friend's Xbox One and have your dashboard on their console.

I don't really have any issues but honestly, my favorite is still the "folders" from 360 launch. Old school I guess.

That B button! That f***ing B button that keeps relaunching game or app you just quit! Anyone else HATE the new "guide" system? :)

I am not sure what MS was thinking tbh?
