Anyone else has a problem with the 120hz option or is it just me

So I've been trying to improve my gaming visuals by getting a better monitor for Xbox one s because I had a sh*t one and when I heard there gonna support 120hz for Xbox now I thought this a great time to buy one, so I did and I got a 144hz gaming monitor
and I tried to select the 120hz option on my new monitor but it says<<this frequency is not supported>> please help Microsoft. And BTW its running at 1440p resolution.

Are you using an Xbox One X or Xbox One S along with the newest Xbox patch? All those are requirements. You can check for an update on your dashboard to verify that.

Also, can you tell me the model of monitor you are using?

The 120Hz option is only with the console set to 1080P and has been connected to a television that supports 120Hz.

OK thank you for detailed reply, I appreciate it. On Xbox one there is no option to change refresh rate at least I didn't see it, the only thing that is available on mine is the setting for 24hz, everything else is greyed out. So since XBOX one cannot do 120hz and my third generation firestick cannot do 120hz, which devices support it? And is 24HZ has anything to do with 120hz or no?

Did you solve this issue? Bought my kids this edition yesterday and they've had the same problem, no sign of the dlc after installation and the store just has the option to purchase the items. Anyone else having this problem?
