Anyone else going all Digital?

Never!

Why? Because i like my Collection of Consoles and Games! I don't have any Problems in changing a Disc to play another Game and at the moment the Internet here is to slow to Download Games with over 40 GB.

 

I will be sticking to physical copies. The size of Xbox One titles as well as updates along with it will no doubt chew way our download quota. I share the internet with my family and going over the download limit will slow the internet connection to dial
up speeds.

 

All digital so far though I regret paying too much for Watch Dogs which is an average open world game (imo)

 

You tend to pay full RRP on Xbox Marketplace. Sometimes they have sales. But authorized retailers can have even better sales. And taking into consideration everyone's broadband speeds and plans. I paid only NZ$94 for Watch Dogs and when you convert that
to US currency, that's a good buy. When Watch Dogs released for Xbox 1, RRP for the game here was NZ$118.

 

I buy mostly physical. I've only bought a couple of old games digitally.

 

I'm really wanting to go all digital but the prices of digital vs physical are stupid, if they were £5-£10 cheaper then I'd go 100% digital. At the minute it seems digital is more expensive, I hope this changes in the future.

 

Pricing dictates that I'll never go digital. No way will I ever pay more for a digital version of a game, and I see absolutely no reason why it should be more expensive than an in-store purchase.

Watchdogs for example: Day one it could be purchased in store for £44, but to buy the digital version (which I'll never be able to trade in and get some money back for if I choose to do so) cost £59.99.

Quite a big difference, and one which I find ridiculous to be honest. No thanks.

I'm actually surprised so many people support this, but .... it is what it is.

 

I really want to but until offers like this get involved...... it will be hard...

ShowbizMonkey, For some, the prices are the same as disc versions ($59.99). Seeing as I don't trade in games there's no big advantage for physical. I can fast switch between apps, avoid gamestop & Best Buy lol, no clutter, etc. I'm sure the others who went
all digital are in a similar boat.

PS, this is not meant as a knock against those who prefer physical

pockets. When you really think about it, the marketing behind Xbox Live is sheer & utter brilliance, even if you ultimately disagree with it. I also like to think that that is also why we get such a great service in return with such a strong, grounded, & well-rounded
infrastructure that has only had a single price hike in the 11+ years that XBL has been around. I'm kind of rambling at this point, so I'll just sayt his: whether you go physical or digital, you can't go wrong.

 

GG the thing that makes me shy away from digital is the fact that there is the possibility of buying a game that way and it being complete and utter garbage. Then you are just out $20 to $60 as you cannot return it even if you wanted to.

 

That's what research, Twitch, and friends are for.

 

I want to go all digital, but the price is the killer for me.

I can save £20 if I buy retail or online physical media.

I think that's nuts, if they want me to buy stuff on the market place its needs to be priced accordingly, not at max RRP, sometimes above.

& I don't think, using the excuse of being able to switch between games is justified by a £15+ price hike?

I would be all digital if they were the same price as physical! or £2 less than the typical physical game. (£45, is the usual price)

So when digital media matches or becomes lower than the typical RRP in stores I will start buying digital, but until then I can't justify the price increase for the luxury to fast switch, takes 30 seconds to switch a disc.

& this isn't MS fault, it's the publishers that submit the price, but MS could say no has to be less than physical disc RRP

I own basically every game out on Xbox One, if I were to buy them all digital it would have cost me a lot more than it already did, for every 3/4 games I can get another free if I don't go digital, based on digital pricing.

steam has it correct for the most part.
