Anyone else getting spam messages about raffles

Don't know if it's coincidence but ever since I downloaded the Vine app I keep getting spammed by multiple accounts talking about raffles for xbox one or ps4

The sites usually consist of dodgy sounding names like SafeRaffles.com it's mostly an annoyance but it makes me wonder how these people got my ID and there isn't any way to combat this problem from time to time I report them for unsporting behaviour but
yeah I'd rather not have my inbox filled with spam

Why don't Microsoft add the option of only being able to receive messages from friends? ive been getting 2-3 of these a day for 2 weeks now. Just annoying for me but I worry for the people with kids. if a raffle site can spam messages to anyone they want,
so could others.

 

These Spam messages/account are getting ridiculous now

Got a 4th spam message from the 4th spam account to head to a daily raffle site to try to win a XB1 by entering your email.

This phishing is getting ridiculous now. Someone needs to change the way one creates a gamertag so these bots stop spamming people.

And yes, I've already filed a "text message" complaint on the accounts that have spammed thus far...

 

By the way I am using an xbox one don't know if that makes any difference but thought I might aswel mention it

 

I have been getting them as well. I just block communications and delete conversation.

 

Make sure you report all the accounts sending you messages about raffles, that way Enforcement is notified about it and they can be dealt with

 

I have looked into the back-end code of some of these sites being spread via spam messages on xbox live. DO NOT VISIT THESE SITES!!!

I have confirmed that two are Command and Control (C&C) nodes for building botnets. If someone were to visit one with an unpatched browser... you get the idea.

 

Yeah, it's only started happening recently. Maybe if the spam messages were about waffles instead of raffles I might fall for it.

 

I assumed whomever was responsible for the spam had gotten my gamertag from these very forums. I've blocked, I think, four spammers over the Christmas period and into 2015. Three for the raffles and one just last night for dominos pizza.

Mmm... pizza.

I haven't reported any of them though, I expect spam with any online experience. Plus, I've decided the response to reports is so slow, doing it is mostly useless. =)

 

This is wide spread, I know users who have never visited this forum and have received the messages. I just block, report and move on, even though it's becoming rather annoying.

 

I figure they get them here & other XBOX themed sites. My GT is posted all over the internet. Report, & Block, nothing to see here. Oddly enough, I got some spam from Enforcement telling me they had taken action against one of my recent reports, ( that's
new...they usually just float off into report oblivion ) & thanks.

 

My friend who doesn't use these forums has been getting them, I have been getting them. MS need to do something. We don't pay for gold membership to be constantly spammed about pizza and free PS4s.

It's quite a problem.
