Anyone else feel like we're missing out?

Just curious. Last year, when the Xbox One was revealed I couldn't even begin to explain my excitement. Playing my friends 360 and the time I spent with Call of Duty 2 and, my favorite, Gears of War, had me hooked. My 360 was my pride and joy for many years
so it was only natural that I was going to get the new system. I worked two jobs the during summer and throughout the semester of my senior year so I could save up and get the Day One edition (my way of showing I was a devoted fan).

And truly, I didn't expect the console to be perfect. I'm 22, so while maybe not as old as some of you who have been around for many console releases, i remember my fair share.

Most importantly, I know nothing ever launches perfectly. But I was ready and willing to wait it out as Microsoft held through and kept the continuing updates coming to improve the system. Hell, I'm still probably one of the only people who enjoys using
the Kinect (still think its an awesome feature when watching Netflix and using the game clip recording)

Now, when they released that they would start selling without the Kinect, and I realized I could have saved a $100, which you can do a lot with when in college, I really wasn't that bothered by it. Like I said, I still use and enjoyed mine. However, now
I'm hearing all the news from Gamescon. New white system. A terabyte of memory. These are options I would have loved to choose from from the start, but now feel like I am almost being punished because I chose to purchase the Day One edition.

Now I understand I could have waited, but usually the console upgrades take a few years to get to, not a few months. So while I went out to help contribute to the success of the new launch, I am now missing out on the possibility of a white console and,
more importantly, the terabyte of memory. I understand it's mainly a marketing strategy, but I do kind of feel like I'm getting *** in the long run.

Even if there was a way to maybe purchase the memory and have Microsoft install it in my current console, hey I'd be more pleased with that. My main issue is, and some of you I am sure can relate, it's not exactly easy working two jobs during your final
year in college to save up the amount of money for a purchase like this.

Now with all these new models and upgrades, regardless of how limited they are, I would take a huge financial loss in order to upgrade.

I really do love my xbox one and I am ecstatic for all the upcoming games, however, like I stated, just feel like those who purchased from the start are already getting left behind. This could just be me, just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on the matter.

Anyone else not digging how your hand placement on the left toggle leaves you hitting between the right and down directions? I feel like doing the training challenges half the time I'm missing the direction modifier thanks to it.

 

1TB drive xbox one (without kinect) = $500.00 ? 100.00 for 0.5 TB?

2TB external drive (plus, get to keep internal 500GB HDD) = $95.00

I prefer having most games on external (keeping apps and smaller games on internal), allowing me to take them to friends/family and plug in for playing there.

 

^I agree completely. I'm happy with my day one. I've gotten to play x1 since nov of last year. I'm ok with the updates. We knew a bigger Hard drive would come. Though IMO seems a bit of a ripoff.

 

So much buyers remorse on these forums. People need to accept the fact that it is what it is.... you want to be one of the first, it comes with risks......

 

The memory in Xbox One has, and will not, change. The storage capacity on one SKU has been upped to 1TB from the base 500GB. That SKU costs $499 and does not include Kinect, but instead al digital day zero edition of CoD Advanced Warfare.
If you need an extra 500GB of space, buy an inexpensive USB-powered drive and plug it into the back of the console. It's cheaper and faster than buying a new console.

A white console is cosmetic (and again doesn't come with Kinect). If you want a white console, buy some skins and apply them to your Day One edition?

 

Nope I am pretty thankful for what I have. A white Console pfft.. I'll pass, a Call of Duty console.. No thanks.. A Fifa console.. You guessed it ill pass. The 1tb hard drives in them isn't so bad we have external options

 

I was excited to wait in line at Midnight to get my Day One Edition Xbox One. Nothing is better than that.

The bundles are great for Xbox and the Xbox Community. I am happy that these bundles are out, perhaps they will entice users that are on the still awesome Xbox 360 to come to the next gen. These are great deals for the community. So no, I do not feeling
like I am missing out. I love the experience, and having watched the evolution of the Xbox One since 12:08 am November 22nd.

 

These posts are old and tiresome. I got my Xbox One at 12:09 AM on November 22nd. Right behind Doc. I bought my Xbox One the day it came out knowing full well that there were going to be deals and bundles to be had. The same thing happened on the last generation,
and on the generation before that. If you bought it Day One, you got to play it on Day One, if you got it with the Titanfall bundle you got Titanfall for free. You were in full control of when you wanted to buy you Xbox One.

Now please keep this in mind next generation that this is GOING TO HAPPEN. As time rolls on less people will buy the system. That's business, but if you release a bundle with incentive to buy the system people will consider buying it and that will stimulate
business again. It's YOUR fault that YOU feel YOU bought the system at the wrong time. Not their fault you aren't being rewarded for buying your system.

 

I haven't had a moment of buyers remorse, I remove games I don't play anymore, so I am currently only using about about 30% of the 500gb storage, and I would have gotten a Xbox with the Kinect regardless, I'm so in love with the IR blaster.

It is unfortunate how quickly better deals started rolling out, but that's the nature of the beast, Xbox was getting a lot of negative press for not selling as well has the PS4, and this is the result.

 

Not at all. The excitement of owning the X1 on day one was worth it alone. I don't understand why people get upset about better bundles and lower price's after they have already bought the console. Even if you waited and bought the AW X1, this time next
year an even better/cheaper bundle than that will probably be out.

 

I'm ok with it because we can buy a 1TB HDD for fairly cheap anyway. I knew upgraded versions would roll out eventually. No biggie.

 

I got my XB1 as the Titanfall bundle can't be happier, I bought an Xbox One WITH Kinect and received Titanfall for free. Not a fan of white (gets dirty too fast much like the gloss finish I'm not a fan of either) but if they were to come out with a red one
that would be nice. If I want more space western digital makes some of the best hard drives on the market.
