Any way to not resume from Car Meets?

I'm sure that when I first started playing, the game would just resume from wherever I was when I left the game, but now the game always resumes from a Car Meet. The initial game load takes long enough, but now I have to wait that little bit more to exit
the car meet so I can start playing. Does anyone know if there is a setting to not start at car meets?

Apart from instant resume and not getting off the couch, is there any other benefits to digital only? I was 90% digital for most of this gen because of Australian data limits, but now I'm on unlimited I plan to just buy whichever way is cheaper, as I very rarely trade games I can't see any massive benefits either way.

Has anyone figured out if there's a difference between resume from last save as opposed to resume from end of story? I've experimented with these a little and always seem to resume from the same spot no matter which I choose..

 

Yeah I found that rather annoying. Doesn't seem like leaving the game as far away from any car meets as possible has any effect either. I spent one whole gameplay session clowning around at the airport, only to return and find myself about twenty minutes
away in another part of the country at some fool car meet where it appeared I was the ONLY human player. The reason I suspect that is because the car meet was filled with cars, but they were all friends on my friends list, and ALL of them were offline at the
time and not playing! Dang drivatars! >.<

 

Ah, thanks guys. I used to drive up to whatever race I wanted to tackle next, before leaving the game, but now that's just a waste of time.

 

Hey Pan, I watched one of your Forza Horizon 2 videos and saw you battling it out with "me" for 1st. Thing is, I've still never played Horizon 2. Well, I did play the demo but... lol

 

And Pan, in case you see this, I have Horizon 2 on the way from gamefly. I also have 1.5 credits already via Forza rewards. What do you need tuned? I owe you that for the entertainment value of your vids. hahaha

 

OH my goodness I hadn't seen these posts lol. Well I did just recently purchase a Mitsubishi Evo 8 I believe...wouldn't mind seeing it up to par with that beast I used to own for racing on Mount Fuji (fuki? I dunno...that mountain in previous forza's lol)

Yes I did have a serious battle with your drivatar lol. I had one recently again that was insane. Not sure if I recorded that one but dang your drivatar is sneaky. Took a short cut I hadn't even known existed and tried to cut me to the finish line. I managed
to realize just in time and came sailing through the air off some nearby hill to take the win by the skin of my teeth. The car was trash afterwards it got so wrecked up lol.
