    Any TV experts out there?

I need help regarding 4K TVs. I recently bought the 4K Samsung below a couple of days ago, but it's only 60hz. The Sony is 120hz which I thinking about getting. If going solely by the reviews, it looks like the Samsung wins, but there are some specs that
stand out to me in the Sony TV that make me unsure. Keep in mind I'm going to be using this mainly for gaming—I know consoles don't support 4K gaming yet, but the next consoles will so I'm preparing for that. Don't want to spend too much on a 4K TV when 8K
    should be out this year.

    Thanks for you help.

This is the best video tutorial I have come across for learning how to wall bounce.

This should help you become one of those crazy wall-bouncers that I will most likely complain about at a future date. Good luck.

  3. Any wallbouncing experts out there?

I've been practicing wallbouncing now for about a week and i seem to be stuck and not getting any better. So i've come here to see if there are any wallbouncing experts that could offer me some words of wisdom.

I'm an aggressive player so i've been looking for a way to get to people camping at the top of the stairs on thrashball, aftermath etc. I've been playing gears games for years now so i know how to wallbounce regularly. What i'm looking for is bouncing fast
and fluidly. I put some clips together of me bouncing (or attempting to bounce) so maybe somebody could see where i am going wrong.

The problem you have are, nearly all TV reviews will be for watching TV and not gaming, and 4K is hardly supported on PC, and isn't on console yet (not for games anyway)

So we need to know what the TV is actually for, before anyone can recommend anything.

Are you also open to monitors and not TV's?

If you're using it for gaming, get the higher refresh rate.

go with a 240hz if you can.

I actually have that 55" Sony, all I can say is its a great tv. All our past tv's have been Samsung and they have all been good tv's, the only thing that let them down was the sound. When I bought that tv last year, it was pretty cheap due to bad reviews
because of the android operating os causing problems, but all those issue's have been sorted now through updates.

I can't speak for the Samsung tv, but I'd highly recommend the sony. I play mainly pc on it now and the game look great and the tv performs great.

@Enendaveyboy I'm going to be using the TV mostly for gaming.

Would prefer TV, since I can't get a 48" PC monitor.

The reviews I've read on both TVs (posted in original post) both look at the TV in terms of gaming. The Samsung is rated higher for gaming because of the lower input lag.

    Samsung: 26.4

    Sony: 39.5

Speaking of which, is there really going to be a noticeable difference between the two?

Nice, man. You can actually help me out even just owning that TV.

I looked up the input lag on your TV and it says 35ms in game mode.

Do you use game mode? Do you notice input lag while playing online. Also, do you play shooters?

Yeah I use game mode for both pc and X1, I have noticed absolutely zero input lag on either pc or X1. Tbh, I don't really play online often now but when I have done I haven't noticed any difference at all.

I think one of the good things about Sony from a customer stand point, is the fact the company on a whole is struggling. There electronics departments have been doing terrible over the last decade, so this is reflected in the price. When I bought the x8509c,
if I wanted the equivalent Samsung with similar features and performance I'd of had to spend an extra £300.

I don't seem those links as reviews, the gaming information looks like it look at the brochure and listed the stats, where is the review?

Are you using it just for xbox and as a tv? or pc as well? do you have a budget? why do you want 4k and do you want anything else like 3d?

Would you consider buying a cheaper TV and replacing it when your thinking about upgrading to the next gen?

    @EnenDaveyBoy

Mainly for Xbox, any TV I watch is on the Time Warner Cable App on the Xbox anyway. Budget is 900 max. No PC.

Don't really want to get a cheaper TV at the moment, want to "future proof".

  15. JMPO, but preparing for the next gen of consoles is a bit counter productive to the 'not paying too much' idea. When it comes to technology, purchasing a component early isn't something I tend to find any advantage in and usually find more disadvantages.

The market price of 4k TVs will not go up... and they'll be even lower when 8k is just around the corner. Not to mention (unless I missed something), there isn't really a slated date for the next gen of consoles... could be years.

It's up to you of course, if you really just want a 4k TV I'm sure you can find some helpful info from these guys. But for me, the best time to get the TV you really want and pay the best price you're likely to find, is to wait and get it as close as possible
to the time you purchase the next console. If 8k is already out by then, the price will be much better... and you'll probably find an even better model for that price.

Unfortunately, I don't see a good way to 'future proof' in the world of technology.
