Any sort of refund available?

I recently purchased the new Minecraft game for $20 + tax; however, I heard that it was free if you own the Xbox One edition of Minecraft. I do own the digital version and I heard that it was a glitch at the launch, but I still did pay the $20. I was wondering
if Microsoft could refund this in any way.

Xbox Live hard to cancel

I have called them and even if you meant to cancel after the charge has been made for the next period they won't give you any sort of refund. I was only one day late in calling to cancel and I still could not get a refund with them. The only thing they would do is not automatically renew it when came due again.
