  1. Any Risks to Changing Microsoft Account?

Years ago I changed the Microsoft account my gamer tag was tied to. I don't remember having any issues at all.

Currently my friend's account is constantly trying to be hacked. He has dozens of attempted logins from different countries a week, some actually get in. Changing the password stops the successful logins but we are still dealing with security change issues
all the time. It's a hassle and turns our game nights into tech support nights at least twice a month.

We would like to move to a new account, one with an email address he actually uses now. This wasn't an issue for me a while ago but the Xbox One seems to lack this feature all together, so I am worried about doing it now.

Will he lose purchases, saves, anything like that? Is it possible to change the email address used to sign in and completely remove the old one instead and avoid any of this risk?

    :)

    Changing regions to download early?

Nothing specifically Uneasy. The risks of changing without actually needing to should be enough to deter someone hopefully.

Gamertag changed, what can I do?

Changing the Microsoft account is basically just changing the email on the account. It won't allow any information to transfer between accounts.

Any Risks to Changing Microsoft Account?

Your friend can go to http://account.live.com and change his primary alias to his current email address. This will enable login with his new email and not his old one. If he does change his email he wont
    lose anything

    Xbox One Games Share Allowed?

But it's a risk sharing account details with "friends". Just one fallout and the first person to sign in and change passwords keeps all games and both accounts..... Is it worth the risk?

Transfer gamertag from one microsoft account to another

I'll add a little warning, you risk losing your Microsoft account if the current primary email address is one created via a Microsoft service like @live.com @hotmail.com outlook etc by changing emails.

Can I use an out-of-date mail address as my alias ?

    Hi there,

The recommendation is to use an email address that is active and valid. Should you run into issues down the road, and you can't access the email address on file, you may run the risk of not being able to log into your account all together.

Steps on how to change your email address can be found
    here
