any rechargeable as plug and play in controller?

this is the closest to correct forum board i could find relative to this topic, sorry if it is not in the correct place.

I just got the xbox one and want to cheaply, without spending $30 on microsoft, want to know if any rrechargable battery pack(such as this: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Rech...3&sr=8-23&keywords=xbox+one+kit+-console+-360 )
would work as plug and play. I do not now if specific ones can cause problems or what not and do not want to break my controller and pay another $50.

How will you power your controller?

Same as Merlin Rechargeable Batteries like i do for my headset.They hold charge better than Plug in play batteries.

Can you charge rechargeable batteries in a Xbox One controller?

I'm not talking about the plug and play kit but rechargeable batteries.

I rather not spend $25 on 1300mah Plug & Play when I have 4 sets of 2000 and some 2500MAH Rechargeable batteries around.

its mainly bad usb cables which cause the problems but remember the higher the Mah number the better the battery.

so far the only good recharge batteries for the controller on the market are in the MS play&charge kit as these have around 1400maH on them.

the ones you have on amazon there are only 1200maH they will have a shorter play time.

and as the poster above said. most usb cables probided in those charge kits can cause problems.

some manufacturers make those usb cables only to get them to put electricity through but no data connection. what happens is that your controller will still act as a wireless controller even though it is wired and this can be an issue if you are one of the
ppl who have that random controller disconnection issue that can only be partly avoided if you have the controller act as a wired controller.

long story short get the ms play and charge kit the usb cables on those are flimsy and will break after heavy use as that WILL happen get a 3 or 5m microusb cable usually the ones sold as ps4 charging cables do the trick as they did for me they charge and
have a data connection. in the end its your decision.

All xbox controllers require a plug and play kit to be able to recharge the batteries

Hey Spweedz,

The battery pack that comes with the Play and Charge Kit can be recharged using virtually any Micro-USB, like the one that came with the Play and Charge Kit itself.

If you take away the rechargeable battery, the controller will be powered simply using the USB connection to your Xbox. It becomes a wired controller but it will stay powered as long as you have it plugged into your Xbox. Once you unplug it, the controller
will power off.

There is nothing to charge if you remove the rechargeable battery pack. The battery pack is what is being re-charged when plugged in and not the controller itself.
